Hey guys, a lot of people are bringing this up so to clear up the confusion, at 2:00 Hydration while in the game itself doesn't see the white glow from the LA Gladiator's Reinhardt shield. Wha OWL players seen the game are characters with no skins (so the regular blue and red shades for abilities). The white glow is a byproduct of the Away skin + the Replayer Viewer.
Shouldn't there be a red glow then? On the highest settings, these shields/effects do have emissive effects. I heard most of the pro players are not playing on the highest settings, but due to the fact that these PCs are from the overwatch league they should be able to deliver maximum FPS even on the highest settings, and I doubt they would just give up an advantage like that...
@@BlackwoodHDEnglish They play on low settings because some objects disappear on low settings, opening up more sightlines. Edit: Not to mention that no PC is perfect and you don't even want to risk frame lag
It's visible in game, however, onyl if you have effect details all the way up. Most pros use low settings, so I could see why Hydration did not see it. But in game, it is totally visible with high settings
@@firecarter319 Edit: Not to mention all of these players practice on those settings so they are used to it and probably prefer it over any other settings.
You say that but there are still two shield tanks on both teams. The Summer Showdown Finals were some of the most exciting to watch ever and was a double shield mirror match. It's not the shields, it's the meta surrounding them.
@@shuttlecrossing1433 ye the mind game is fun, what else? Do you prefer Pine going in the backline and snipe 4 people or seeing beefsteak smashing together in a clusterfk?
@@shuttlecrossing1433 the game became ah shit our shield is limited better use it probably and use the terrain to, haha perma shield go brrrrr. Back then when winston jump in, we burst down the shield and bring him down, nowsaday its like ok we bursted orisa's shield down, we have like 3 second to kill them ahh shit sigma shield is up, burst it down quick, oh no orisa's shield is up again
ShuttleCrossing wasn’t talking about owl specifically. Overwatch for your overage player rn is miserable because of all the shields on top Baptiste invincibility and syn shields and Moira ults every minutes and 10 other things taking up the sceeen
It’s like a movie sequel Still entertaining, but it wasn’t as good as the first, cause Surefour at least landed the shots from spawn. But still worked so it’s still good
"Gladi really liked using the split 3-3 rush style and even though we didn't scout it due to their own TP, we knew we needed an answer to it at strong chokes before the match. This TP let us skip one of the hardest chokes to get past against that sort of comp, so we decided to use it instead of switching up our style for just one map. We ended up finding several potentially unused/unknown TPs like this but opted to only use one during the match." - Outlaws Coach Harsha
@Ali Hadi Babar or maybe hes wrong too cuz theres a reason top 500/pro play d o e s see playstyles similar to the meta, i.e moth, goats, double barrier :///. and its not like those players started out with coaches, they used to just be regular players who were just good lol
To us, it's a bright white that gives them away. To them, they only see the default skins, meaning it would appear as an orangish red, blending in much better with the red bricks on the wall.
On lower graphics, which most OWL players play on, the lighting will not display bleeding like that. And as @NebulousOW said, they see the shield as red which wouldn't look nearly as bright.
It’s so sad that there aren’t that many maps that give you a chance like this. Wish map design was focussed for options like this aswell. I remember one blizzcon event it was mentioned that someone made this map and some others the other maps. Let the kingsrow designer make more maps!
This was such a well-made video. Great job breaking down moments of hectic gameplay into a very clear and understandable analysis! Definitely love this stuff!
Great analysis, I love watching your Overwatch vids, compromising stuff like this that I can't even hope to discover in years. I hope your channel flourishes, and your content improve more in time!
Isn't Lucio Brazilian ? Is the narrator here actually doing effort to pronounce "Lucio" correctly ? "Lucio" certainly isn't an English name, so there is no good reason to pronounce it the English way.
Imagine watching this whole well made, we’ll put together analysis of a cool play and the only thing you take away from it is that the narrator pronounced Lucio’s name weird
Wow this was just a couple of seconds of real-time gameplay, but there are as many things to analyze as in a chess match :D Also your voice is so soothing i would listen to you give Overwatch lectures
Honestly fucking bonkers watching live and even crazier with the slowmo. Dantehs mei wall to keep from being booped off height is some galaxy brain shit.
On 2:00 you can see the light from Rein lol Its easy to recognize cuz its white tho with different skins come with different colors and be able to blend in
You can actually see the light, reflecting around the corner by reins shield. dunno if this also applies on low graphic settings. But even it I admit that its very hard to spot
If there were ever to be a .eta in a superhero game, I'd like it to be the bamboozle. Abusing obscure and creative strategies, techniques and mechanics to surprise or outsmart an enemy is the most entertaining thing you could ever do. But knowing the devs, they'll probably nerf ever hero mentioned in this video.
