Awesome lesson, thanks so much for opening this style of playing to all of us. I've been searching for something like this for quite a while and appreciate that you took the time to make these lessons available to anyone.
Damn, this is hard. I come here every once in a while to test how much my strength has improved but noooo this song seems to have gotten stronger as well lol. I will not give up ! Incredible song, really !
@@Guitarist19887 Hi! You won't believe it. This is actually one of the most accessible parts of this song, compared to the intro riff for example. But the precision and strentght required is Indeed tricky on this particular section. Might do a cover One of these days as soon as I find the Time 🔥 How about you? What would you say is the hardest notion/motion to get right here? Safe journey, fellow riffhead!
@@radoniainamaminirina3429 i actually don’t play this one I have some Sylosis covers though if you’re interested and I’d definitely be interested seeing you play I was just asking since you commented on how hard it was I am currently working on something hard too! I’m currently working on “Out From Below”. Really excited to get it done. Keep going my friend.
@@Guitarist19887 Just got a glimpse of your content and subbed right away! 🔥 Out From Below is One of the most Epic songs out there with tons and tons of sick riffs, can't wait to watch your cover!
@@radoniainamaminirina3429 amazing man thanks 🙏 . I’ll be sure to do it soon, it’s a real difficult song, finding it more difficult than I Sever! I can do most of it, just the lead is really difficult to get in line with the studio track
Hi Josh! I was wondering if you could make a video about those ambient-clean guitarparts you use a lot on both your soloproject (congrats btw) and sylosissongs.
By far my favorite piece you've ever composed... just... fucking bravo. Not gonna lie I like every single song on this album more than any of the Sylosis songs (including my favorite which is actually Earth's Dust still) haha. Guess it's the prog dork in me. If Inanimate Existence didn't drop last year, Hollowed-Out Planetoid would have been my AOTY. Easy. Wearing my JMP shirt today :) Ironic how it's my initials too.... XD
What if Dimebag could give you Skype lessons? Mind = Blown. I'm watching old Pantera live footage as I type this. Also, keep making music. You rock, man!
Sylosis is a killer heavy band ( only heard some songs)....but I think Josh should stick to the intrumental thing imo...thick rhythms, shred and a touch of dream theater - ish riffs....just what I like. No vocals needed. ( I think Josh may be one of my new favorite guitarist)..\m/....great thick sound as well..\m/
Yeah, the first riff has a pretty heavy mute on it, ease it off on some of the pull-offs to let them have a bit more room but pretty much choke it up (apart from the ends of the two phrases where you hit the higher notes obv :))
Any strings higher that the one you are pulling off from you should try and mute with your fretting hand (since you just did a pull-off to open strings you should have a free fretting hand for a moment), the lower string should be muted by your right hand if needed, though in fast phrases (like this tune) it's difficult to do all of that. You might find that accuracy is super important here - if you try this super slow it will probably sound pretty clean, and if you speed it up, it will be messy at first. The idea is to stay accurate while building the speed up - metronome practice will do that (bump up a few bpm when you can play it cleanly 10 times in a row, repeat = win)
