Thank you so much for bearing with me while I've been away. I really wanted to take this opportunity before I properly get back into making videos again to share some personal news - and to talk about how things are going to look in the future.
Looking forward to sharing this new chapter with you! Lucy x

Hi everyone! It has come to my attention that an account posing as me, using my name and profile picture, has been replying to comments telling people that they won a giveaway. This is NOT me. I will never ask for your personal details, and am not currently running a giveaway. Please do not reply or engage as this puts you at risk! I'm so sorry this has happened. I have tried to delete all comments on the video, but it's still possible you may have received an email or notification about this. Again: this is *not* me. I can only apologise - I hate that this may have affected some of you!

Springwatch presenter and naturalist Chris Packham made a doc film about Autism and Asperger's which he has (it's here on RU-vid). It was such a well done, compelling watch and I respect him so much. Congrats to you on being able to put a name to it, and I wish you all the best. You are an exceptionally bright young woman. I applaud your authenticity!

It's so good to have you back! I have two people I care about going through the process of getting a ADHD diagnosis at the moment, so I know how frustrating the wait can be but also the relief of finally understanding yourself a bit better! And I can't wait to hear what you have been reading as I always come to you for great classics recommendations! Currently reading Crampton Hodnet by Barbara Pym which is a very charming read 🌞

I'm really glad you're going to make more videos! Thanks to your videos I've discovered a love of the Brontes. And I'm so glad you have found your diagnosis. I'm sure it's such a relief! We're all glad to see you happy and thriving. As far as books go, I've found a deeper appreciation of Elizabeth Gaskell this year. I'm even planning to do a "Gaskell in April" readathon of some kind in April - a whole month dedicated to her. It's still in the early planning stages but I'm looking forward to reading more. Last year I read Mary Barton and it was one of the best I ever read that year. This year I did a buddy read of Cranford and thought it was excellent.

I apparently am subscribed to you, but only found you again when I heard your books had demisexual rep. I bought the first one, but it's still in the mail. Thanks so much for being open about your diagnosis. I don't have autism, but I connect so hard to some of the things you said about discovering at age 35 that I'm demisexual. There are other people like me out there! I feel seen. Your feelings of being yourself, etc. resonate.

Lucy, Tears of joy drop from my eyes upon seeing your return to RU-vid. I have been subscribed to your channel for three years now and I love all your videos with all my heart related to books and stories, classics and writing. I am neurodivergent as well and also happen to be autistic, ADHD, and dyspraxic. I know how fulfilling it feels to have the confirmation that you are neurodivergent and indeed have a brain that works differently. I recently read Like a Charm by Elle McNicoll, which is such an authentic example of neurodiversity representation. I am currently reading Happy Returns by Angela Thirkell and Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy, both of which I am exceedingly enjoying. In January, I read The Blue Castle by Lucy Maud Montgomery, which still remains one of my favorite books of the year. Rea and the Blood of the Nectar by Payal Doshi has become one of my favorite middle grade fantasy novels. As for my own writing, I have spent my days throwing myself into the vivid world of stories my mind creates. Over the past few months, I have written a great many short stories and poems, finishing another draft of my historical fiction novels and beginning two contemporary books that include neurodivergent protagonists. I share most of your obsessive interests and I wish you the best in your journey ahead. I love you

Congratulations on your diagnoses! It's an amazing feeling learning about yourself and then having that validated by others! Definitely looking forward to your future content as you work in the best ways for you. As for what I've been reading: Wrath Goddess Sing by Maya Deane is probably the most recent release that I've read and adored. I'm also currently working through an anthology of horror fiction written by various famous female authors called More Deadly Than the Male. It's been fascinating learning about the history of the women who wrote these stories and also finding authors that I recognize and have adored previously.

Hi Lucy! Glad to see you back and doing well. Best read for me so far this year: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Best read in a series: the Mitford novels by Jan Karon. Best reread: The Hobbit. Funniest read: Miss Buncle’s Book by D.E. Stevenson (thanks to RU-vidr Miranda Mills!). Planning on reading Wuthering Heights this November, hoping to get the lucythereader experience, however, since I live in the high desert of the American southwest, where it’s sunny most of the time, that might not happen. The best I can hope for is cold and cloudy. 😊 Thanks for the update, Lucy, look forward to seeing more of you!
