Hola loves! Theres some things I like about retwisting my locs and a few things I like about interlocking. I let you know in this video and will I go back to interlocking.
*One thing I forgot to mention that I like about interlocking is the weight! With retwisting and using the mousse it does give my locs a SLIGHT stiffness, heavier weight to them versus the retie. Retie theres no product so they feel super flowy and light :)*

I prefer to retwist my micro locs. It leaves them fluffy but I only use water. I suppose it's the mouse making your hair stiff when you do it

I just retwisted for the first time last week after being loced for 3.5 years for the same reason you mentioned. I was falling out of love and needed to switch it up to see if I wanted to keep them or not. I think I’m going to go back to reties but not 100% sure yet. I was amazed it only took 2 hrs to wash, retwist, style, and sit under the dryer. So different from a retie.

This was just the motivation I needed to get ready to do this retie. I'm every 4/5 weeks. Pushing it to 6 is too much for right now (Oct 1 will be 4 months). I fantasize about retwisting in the future once these locs set but for now I need to interlock even though it feels like I just finished my last one. This new growth is disrespectful and fast growing! Thank you again for your videos.

Lol.. yes hunny the times flies especially after the retie took dang on 12hrs lol. Feels like u just did it. 😆 I tried to push mine to 8 weeks (at one point) LOL. But hey girl if u have a lot of growth and it's coming in quick Enjoy it. Shoot I wish ♡

Hey girl hey! Your hair is looking good. I'm sticking with my retie. 19 months in and still taking me around 12 hrs but I do it every 6 weeks. This is the best decision I've ever made for my hair.

Hey girl 👋. I think I was doing 6 weeks when I stopped retieing. Only thing is now I've kind of gotten use to my wash and maintenance at 4-5 weeks. Thanks boo. You been doing the d*mn thang.

I’m with you friend! This is my second set and every time I get around my one year mark I fall out of love with my locs 😫😫. Im trying so hard to not grab the scissors 🤣 Your hair is beautiful by the way 🤎

Nooooo don't grab the scissors.. give it more time. I feel out of love on minor things. I still loved them however. Give it time you'll be back in love just enjoy the journey love

I'm 4 years in and it takes me two days to retie. My reties are every two months, my hair hair grows . The length is at my butt now and I don't mind it if looks shorter. I will try retwist for the first time. And I have a lot of knots in my loss...lol

It takes me a whole weekend to do my retie 😫😩😫😩😫 it’s exhausting but at the same time it’s a me time for myself and I love that ! Seeing the new growth makes me soooo happyyyy

I been retieing since I started my locs a year ago . I’m switching to retwist and I’m so excited . I dread doing a retie literally and it’s a lot of holes in them which I know I can fix . I’m like um no let me start retwisting and see if it works for me . Locs are fun and i fell out of love with mine too but I’m trying to love them again lol your hair is beautiful ❤

Thank you for this video because my locs are about the size as urs in the video, and I thought I was going to always have to retie. I have had my locs for 2 years now and them retie takes me 2 days to complete. So I like the idea to be able to give my locs a break from the mishaps that comes with retieing. So I said for a year straight retwist will be my maintenance for my locs. And maybe I’ll rotate from retieing to retwisting. Thanks again.

Yes. I’ve done it like 4 or 5 times on locs that were in for like 2 years. Conditioner and a rat tail

No ma'am. Most of my twisted hair was maturing. I only retied over the previous retwist, but I didn't unravel it. I took my interlock tool down to the mature portion of my locs and started my interlock. I shld be doing a close up of my locs soon. ♡

Length. From my experience. I retained more length after I twisted vs interlocked. The whole math and science to it unsure. That's jus my speculation

@@KhaliliaTanae hmm would you mind explaining this more? I recently took down my microlocs because the retire were just too much $$$$’s and too long when I did it myself! Getting love again with a better grid and different sizing. I would love the potential to retie because of less time.

If you start off doing the retie, can you switch up an go with retwist?? Your hair looks amazing.

Yes but I would only do it for a temporary or quick touch up. Longevity wise I don't recommend retwisting.

Ok thanks. I started my microlocs oct 10/21 and started with the 3 point rotation then went to 4 and now trying the 2 still not sure which one I prefer.
