In January of this year, tragedy struck our family. One ofMY little nephews passed away at the age of one year due to hydrocephalus. I wanted to go to Pangasinan to be with my family, but at the time there were floods in our region. Today, we are traveling to Pangasinan to visit our family. This is the main reason we came to Luzon. We traveled down the mountains from cool Baguio to the sea to hot Pangasinan. The next day, our Filipino family and I rode our motorcycles to the beach. The beautiful view, warm ocean, delicious traditional Filipino food and fun company made the day unforgettable. We grilled fish and meat and ate fresh oysters. I explained and showed my husband how to open them and me and her sisters recalled funny stories from our childhood. My husband first taste of the local Filipino dish binungey - sticky rice cooked in coconut milk in a bamboo trunk over a fire. Our Luzon Island trip came to an end and my husband and I took a plane back to Mindanao Island in Davao.
