Dwain, a 70 year old Army veteran, was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer. During his treatment, Dwain and his son Mike shared very intimate stories on his deathbed. Mike once asked him if he had any regrets, to which he responded that he only regretted selling his 1982 Harley Davidson FX Wide Glide big bore. Mike vowed to his dad that he would find him his old bike. During the 3 year search, Dwain somehow through either the marvel of modern medicine or the will of God managed to pull through and went into full remission. After his dad made his recovery, they put the search on hold. Shortly after, Mike and myself came up with the idea to use my RU-vid platform to find his fathers old Motorcycle. With nothing but a bill of sale and 2 photos from the 80's, my RU-vid audience and the hero himself, Richard Ford, was able to find the current owner of the motorcycle and gave us the contact information. After a 5000 mile journey to Tacoma, Washington, Mike and myself found ourselves face to face with Dwain's old motorcycle. Here are the events that unfolded after...

Hey everyone... Just wanted to update everyone on something important. Dwain's wife who was battling cancer passed away a few months ago. She was obviously the sparkle in his eye and we were all devastated. Thank you all so much for everyone's love and support. It truly means the world to him.

Dan, I’m so sorry to hear that. Dwain has gone through so much, and he’s remained strong throughout the years. I will keep him in my prayers, and I hope he continues to enjoy his bike despite what he has lost... God Bless, CrazyChez

This guy is soo impressive. He was a soldier that decided he wanted to fly so he went to flight school, went back flew frickin' HELICOPTERS, was a FRICKIN' test pilot for a military installation, got out became a lawyer and opened up a LAW FIRM and to top it off became a judge. The highest authority and honor in a court room. From a soldier to pilot to wealthy attorney/business owner to an authority figure. He's a Go getter if you ask me.

This video proves that the 'biker' community is actually full of kind-hearted, caring individuals, and I think Dan is a prime example of that. Also, it shows that not all Harley riders are as people make them out to be. I'm not allowed to ride a bike (long story), nor am I a 'bike' person, but this video certainly makes me want to be more active in the local community!

@doitwithdan Bro, I'm sitting here with tears rolling down my face when he realized it was his bike and knowing that his son got it for him hit me so hard: My dad is also an Army veteran and he proudly served in Germany as a part of the famed "Big Red One". My biggest regret was never having the money to do what I'd always wanted to do: surprise my dad with his first car. It was a 1956 Chevy Bel-Air that he bought brand new for $2,400, by working for a few cents per hour at a gas station as a pump attendent. My wonderful loving father, advisor, mentor and best friend passed away on September 30th. I'm not commenting to draw attention, I just want you to know that this video was very special to me and to see the joy in that man's eyes and hear it in his voice, it floored me. I wish I could have heard and seen that same joy from my dad after surprising him, but I won't get the chance. Either way, keep making awesome vids, man. (Sorry for the paragraph)

WHAT AN AWESOME VIDEO! There is a connection that you make with certain motorcycles that will make it "your bike"...anyone can go into a Harley store and buy a brand new cookie-cutter bagger...but a 1982 FXWG Shovelhead...that's a classic that is not around much anymore...when he saw those parts and then took a second look...he knew that was "his bike"...I would kill to get my first Harley back...I bought a 1975 Ironhead Sportster and I didn't know jack about Harleys...3 months after I bought it, the shitty weld the guy before me snapped and I slid 618 feet, finally coming to a rest. I wasn't hurt too bad, but I rebuilt that bike from the ground up and it became "my bike"...I turned every bolt on her...broke down on the side of the road a few times and I fixed it. I got sick and ended up having to sell it after I was laid off. I realized I made a mistake as soon as the guy drove off with it. But I would do anything to get her back..maybe one day... But to see this Vietnam vet with such a storied life get "his bike" back made me so happy. Get that starter and bendix fixed so he don't have to kick it...he's earned his "electric leg"!

I served in the Marine Corps 1965 - 1969 Echo 2/1 1st combat deployment 0311 Quang Tri province, 2nd combat tour SDA Andrews AFB Dog School combat deployment 5812 MWD Scout Tracker where I served a rotation in Phu Bai , my 3rd combat deployment was Hue City 1/17/68 where my K-9 and I were assigned to a PRU team working Highway 1 , we made it through the siege of Hue and I called it quits after my 3rd tour ,I've had severe PTSD and selection anxiety from leaving my K-9 in ARVN hands ,me and your father absolutely chewed the same ground given his MOS , oorah ! On a side note what type of cancer did they find in your father & was it attributed to defoliants used during the war ? The reason I ask is because I'm dealing with prostate cancer right now & it's my 3rd cancer ,my 1st cancer hit me in 1974 where I had cancer of the tongue and had the tip of my tongue removed ,my 2nd cancer was caught in 1981 and was Melanomas on my kneck , chest & forearm areas ,the VA denied my claims the cancer was caused by defoliants even though my 1st combat tour puts me square in the middle of areas where huge amounts of defoliants were used ,I've given up on the VA after my therapist called the FBI and reported me for war crimes the day before she went on permenant disibality, she claimed the situations I described taking part in during combat were crimes against humanity and gave her night terrors so bad she couldn't sleep ,last I knew she's living a comfortable life on the federal disability I was denied .

Michael Ledford Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Wow that’s unbelievable that broad reported you as being a war criminal? Makes you wonder how many other Vets she F’d over while in that position! And she got a disability retirement while the boots that have been there & done that pretty much get shyt from the V.A. Thru out the years I’ve heard different Vets talk about how their experience with the VA has been good or bad, but what happened to you pretty much tops them all, to say the least! Good Day to You & God Bless!

Absolutely beautiful story of finding Dwain’s bike. His reaction brought me to tears. I’m so very sorry Dwain lost his wife. My utmost sympathy for losing the love of his life. Also Dwain I thank you for your service to our nation. I appreciate you so much. My husband and my dad (now passed) are Vietnam vets. My dad also served in WWII and Korea. You and your beloved sweet wife did an amazing job raising your son. Mike is a man to be proud of and his love for you is there for all to see. Thanks for sharing this heart warming story. Thank you to everyone who made reuniting Dwain with his bike possible. I will be watching the longer video.
