#shorts
Reuptake is a process in neurotransmission whereby neurotransmitters that have been released into the synaptic gap are reabsorbed by the presynaptic neuron that released them. After neurotransmitters have fulfilled their role in transmitting a neural signal, reuptake allows for their efficient removal from the synaptic gap, thereby terminating their action on the postsynaptic neuron. This process is essential for maintaining the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain and regulating synaptic transmission.
