This is an amazing breakdown. There is a “real way” to do the coin trick for real, no bs. It’s not 100%, but no great trick is. You can get to where you’re 90% +. Chris Ramsay has a video on that coin in the hand effect and how to do it for real.

Also notice with Heidi that, when he points to her first hand, his hand is somewhat off to the outside. This helps him avoid a false detection because she has her hands closer together than the others.

Honestly with my experience in my career, it's both. People do things when they lie, like twitch or look a certain way, or even grin a little. That's simple body language. Him being a criminal profiler and mixing magic with it is extraordinary

Ive been studying mentalism for about a year now and your 100% right on the audience members being in on it. He had good showman ship but i still like Darren Browns style. How do you think lior suchard does the Drawing what the other draws? I have a method that works about 75% of the time and a few other tricks i figured out by research and listening. The way i do it is in the framing and certain word paterns and hand gestures. Im trying to devolp a way to use a laser pointer to flash an image of what i want them to draw but i need to figure out somethings along with it. Good video i subscribed.

For the coin trick it is body language the hand that the coin is in the hand that the nose is slightly pointing to 2 is the eyes will twitch slightly but ever so slightly. 3 if they have not shown any of those signs you can immediately say cross your hands and the hand with the coin will be on the bottom because humans like to protect this from the eye and that is trying to hide it.

I kinda mad that u called that fake watching that was way inspired me to learn that type of stuff and now I can just find a random person on the street look at him and know wat he does for a living the teacher was wearing her hair up which means she usually around a place where she my get stuff in her hair or she is being active and the shirt is something nice and simple possibly setting an example for kids and she was sitting with very good posture again probably settling an example for kids and as for the cop his hair was cut to basically police hair regulation limit and he was obviously fit and young which means he might of just recently got out of police academy and when he got up he used his arm to help him which means he’s usually under an immense amount of stress

The gimmick is not in his hand, it's strapped to his chest and vibrates to let him know what hand it's in 2 for left 1 for right - the same unit can also do heads/tails.

If you search for "Derren Brown the Heist," Derren, who is WAY more talented and prolific than (the very talented) Mr Cloud, teaches a group of laymen how to do the "tell which hand the coin is in" trick. It's NOT how this gentleman describes it. Derren also does EVERYTHING this guy can do and DOESN'T use planted audience members. I believe Mr Cloud does it the way Derren does - not through the means described herein.

This is one of those things in magic/mentalism that makes the whole effect not make sense. For example if I knew what hand the coin is in “which I prove by pointing at the hand” then me using that as a random method of forcing is flawed. You have to choose to either predict which hand they put it in and that’s all or pretend to have no idea which hand it’s in and use it only as a force. Great performance and amazing performer but it’s the routine plot I have an issue with. Either using whatever method to find the hand the coin is in you need to play ignorant in this information so they’ll feel the choice of the animal is really there’s. You can even rewrite the memory in the recap reframing it. “So we asked everyone to name an animal. Out of those hundreds of animals you thought of two of those I then asked you to put a coin into one of your hands if it’s in the left hand you are thinking of a cat if in the right a cheetah. And you chose to put the coin in the left hand correct? “ they’ll agree. Now it’s not you knowing which hand and in the most basic sense saying “hey I can know which hand the coin is in like I have x-ray vision. Now put it in a hand so I can tell you which hand it’s in. Great now cat it’s in the hand that I know it’s in because I’m a mind reader or cheetah if the hand it’s not in because I’m a mind reader” . I love this performers work so nothing against him this is just an illogical flaw I see in SO many mentalism routines and on the lucky opportunities to consult with magic creators and creating effects of my own I strive to make everything make sense logically. And the easiest rule to follow is “am I influencing/seeing the future? Or am I reading someone’s mind/body language” and like all things sometimes that rule can be broken but there needs to be strong justification .

Knowing how a trick works never makes me feel less impressed or amazed _except_ when it involves a plant. Idk I think there is a kind of unspoken pact when you watch tricks like these that nobody is helping the magician besides himself or any assistants he has on stage with him. Otherwise basically any trick can boil down to a plant. Pick a card trick? Your plant in the audience signaled you the card. Or the person who picked the card is a plant. etc etc. At that point the only real measure of ingenuity/skill would be whatever slight of hand is involved. So yeah, the forcing was actually very impressive. But the parts where he (probably) used plants is just disapointing.

I'm curious about the part in his 2nd audition where he had Howie think of a letter and a number (L3). A lot of people, including myself thought of L3. Therefore there must be a subliminal message somewhere.

Do a breakdown and explanation of the David Hasslehoff Colin cloud performance.

There's lots of tricks that can be done that appear random, but are due to neuromotor patterning. i.e. Since I was around 12yo, I can flip an Australian 20 cent piece, and it will come up tails > 18 times out of 20. How do I influence this result? I make sure the coin is heads up when resting on my thumb. I flick it around 2 feet in the air, and catch it with the same hand, and turn it over onto the back of my other hand. I never get to see what side is up when I catch it. This trick is purely due to non random neuromotor reflex. Many years ago, I won $100 off a person who bet me I could not flick 'his' 20 cent coin and get >80% tails out of 30 tosses. I got 27 tails. I have never used the trick to make money since. Another trick is to get a large audience to each write down a number from 1 to 10. At least 30% of the audience will write down 7. This is a collective conscious phenomenon. The number 7 is thought to have had more significance in human history than other numbers. A similar trick is to get an audience to write down an odd number between 20 and 50. Over 20% will pick the number 37.....when there is a 1 in 15 chance of doing so.

can you explain how timon does a similar effect on penn and teller fool us please I really would like to know a way to do that I have a few theories on it I use to do this kind of stuff in school but unfortunately I had lost my books in Clearwater Florida but I am capable of replacing some of the books I had I read 13 steps to mentalism and I still remember some of the books I had quite a collection of them I would read up on them but I may have lost them but the only one who supported me in my family was my grandma and she recently passed away its been really rough on me and I figure If I don't ask I will never know but I really enjoy this video it makes sense to me and you do a great job at breaking it down to help me understand this stuff so if you can take a look at it at leas I appreciate it if even if you cant explain it thanks tiger I look forward to your next video !!!
