I'm machining a mechanism to stretch thin metal membranes almost to breaking point, to make stressed foil diaphragms for the replica Great Seal Bug I made for the BBC2 TV programme The Secret Genius of Modern Life with Prof Hannah Fry.
All lathe work this time, and some edge-of-the-seat machining where the part is held together with superglue. Machining the membrane strainer parts from Aluminium/Aluminum, Brass and 316 Stainless Steel leads to some interesting challenges. As usual I have to machine some fixtures to make this fixture.
At least 23 membranes WERE harmed during the making of this video.
AIMEE my Artificially Intelligent Machining and Engineering Expert system offers "helpful" advice as usual.

These other links are just links to good stuff, I don't get anything other than a nice warm feeling if you buy them and enjoy them as much as I do.
