You can still get a Jeffsy Core 2 (Mk2 2022) for $1650 USD new on the YT outlet, just gotta stalk it for the right size to become available and maybe wait another month for delivery. I know some people want the latest and greatest, but $1800 to the door, with factory fork, shock, and wheel warranties, plus the YT warranty was good enough for me.

My previous generation Stance snapped at the chainstay. Flex pivots on an aluminum frame are such a joke. Meanwhile my 1st generation carbon flexstay Habit has ate up 3x the miles and is still going strong as ever.

Very excited for this one. Looking for a budget full squish currently, as my first ever FS after being on HT my whole life. Glad to see the stance finally get a TA. But that YT is looking might tempting! Can't wait to see the tests.

At RRP nothing comes close to that Jeffsy, mb some of Polygons offerings. But they don’t look as solid & pretty as the YT.

Second hand market is flooded with good deals atm. Shouldnt be difficult to find double the bike for the same price as any of these. Geometry hasn't changed much in the last 6 or more years so as long as a bike has been looked after it's hard to go wrong

Putting the Jeffsy against a Stance and Habit? lol well this test is a wrap. Love to see the Field Test come back and love the hardtail selection, but kinda sad if this is supposed to be considered a 'full size' field test. I've been loving Dario's reviews lately but this spread of 6 bikes is not the most compelling for budget buyers. Am interested if the Stance update will finally break it free from its reputation or if its still a flexy piece of crap. But yeah the Jeffsy is about to smash all of these bikes.

Are you going to ride them for more than a day to find out if Marzocchi has updated the non replaceable bushings in the Z2 that wear out after 5 days of riding?

What do you mean? The bushings are replaceable and are the exact same type as the ones found in 34 forks... They just dont come with the foam rings and that's why the Z2 becomes notchy so quickly. All you need to do is drop the lowers and add foam rings and the Z2 becomes just as consistent as any other Fox fork, problem solved

Unless they updated the newer forks, the lower bushings are cast in and are not replaceable. I got a bike with one on it last year and after 5 days of riding there was a rattle as if the headset was loose. Sent the fork to Fox and they replaced the entire lowers no questions asked. Do a google search about Z2 rattle and you will find many other people with similar issues.

Bare in mind that 64 HTA on hardtail will be 65 when it is sagged. On full sus it is different story, both ends will sag so HTA will stay almost the same as static measurements...

@@bitumen83 True, but I guess my main point is do we really need a hard tail to be that slack? I have a short travel trail bike that has a 66.5 head angle, and I can ride steep double blacks on it just fine, there seems to be a trend in mountain biking to push everything towards the same head angle regardless of the type of bike it is, for example some trail bikes now have the same head angle as downhill bikes.

@@benjy288 Slacked out hardtails are super fun. 64-65 degrees is a nice sweet spot for all around trail riding. If you’re an XC rider then get an XC bike, but for a bike that slightly favors the descents slack is great and doesn’t detract from the overall experience IMO

@@jarnold1789 Each to their own I guess, but I've never seen a hardtail at my local bike park, I think most people buying hardtails aren't buying them to ride steep double blacks, my trail bike is 66.5 and if I wasn't riding steep tracks then I would actually go steeper, the slacker you go the slower the steering, and the more vague the front end feels, especially on flatter corners.

Sure thing - $0.00. It doesn't cost anything for a company to have their bike included in a Field Test. We're the ones who decide which bikes to include; it's as simple as a handful of us editors sitting around and making a list of newer and interesting bikes we want to try out.
