I have a premium 5.0 with track package, but it’s nice to see that you took the time to make a video upgrading your 5.0 from a base cluster to a premium one! It’s starting to look like mine, but aesthetics wise haha. All you need are the recaro leather seats and the side rear OEM louvers and y’all have all the bell and whistles 😄

You dont need a ford dealer to program it to car. I used a bluetooth obd dongle and Forscan program on laptop. I can change everything from disabling TPMS module to adding other stock features. This also will access the IPC module for the cluster programming and key programming.

You can actaully buy a forscan tool and pay for software and do most of what is shown inb this video to my knowledge. $20 for obd2 scanner, and $10 for year of extended license

Talons I’m in Florida leather gets searing hot which is why I got the cloth. Big I’m assuming the leather is more durable. I’ve sat in both and the cloth hold you in better

I'm in Texas so the heat on the leather seats don't bother me. Usually I'm in the Mustang first thing morning or late afternoon. Leather recaros just look better in my opinion.

The easy way to do it is to swap the cluster,get a locksmith,make sure u have two keys then tell the locksmith to do a parameter reset

That cluster only comes on the 13/14 premium? I got my 13 GT (not a premium) a couple years ago it had the premium wheels and that cluster with track apps. Serious question I thought it was standard tech across the board.

I’m not sure why you had to reset your PCM back to stock tune. My 2013 Mustang has a ProCharger supercharger and I have a dyno tune. When I did the premium cluster swap, I used the software, FORScan, and a ELM 327 OBD2 connector, to sync the new cluster to my PCM and program my two keys. I didn’t have to reset back to stock, and reprogram the tune. I also got lucky and didn’t even have to mess with the ABS’s As Built data to get the Track App to work.

I’m a ford tech so I work with IDS all the time on tuned cars. IDS just doesn’t like seeing aftermarket tunes so to adjust a lot of things we usually have the customers put it to stock so it can program

@@namenamerson7919 there's always an inherent and financial risk that something won't work, if you mod your vehicle, outside intended manufacture specifications. You have to accept the risks and meet and/or overcome the challenges you may/will face. If you don't then you shouldn't be modding your vehicle in the first place.

@@saevurr adding ford parts from higher trim packages isn’t hard we just gotta tell the pcm via our IDS to say yo look out for this now. And a lot of the time custom tunes don’t like talking. Actually had a customer come in asking for Cruze control (he got the buttons off Amazon) I installed and reprogrammed the pcm and boom worked just fine

Before pulling the original cluster out make sure you return the car to its stock tune. This will save you alot of time and money on a new tune.

You don't need to change the tune at all. He should have use forscan and done this. Much cheaper and easier.

@@matthewripley677 for 11-12 you'll need to run a wire up from the 3 buttons under the headlight knob. You'll also need an abs module preferably from a 14 gt500 if you want fully working track apps (a 13+ gt module may work. But I had issues when I tried a gt module).

I had mine done at a ford dealership they got the keys programmed and the car starts but there is NO MY COLOR OPTION? I also don't have track apps I didn't give them the VIN# of the premium car is that why?

A dealer actually doesnt need to do this. You can do it with forscan. 10-12s you need to an additional wire to.

Where are you from if you were able to do it with Forscan id pay you to get the mycolor and track apps to work, I had the dealer program it but they used my vin which disable the mycolor and track app, so if you can change the AS built data with forscan that would be awesome

@@adrianrodriguez4292 I'm in Ga. But yes you just manually go in and change a line or 2 of code essentially. You pull the as built data from a vehicle similar in options and build to yours (autotrader is great for vin #s lol). Plug in that as built data and off you go.

@@misaelkarine8874 pretty sure in the Allford forums there's a writeup. It's been a long time since I've done this mod. But you essentially run a wire from the dic (driver info center 3 buttons on the left side) upto the clock spring behind the steering wheel.

@@Anonymous_Pi for a 14 base v6 it's the same steps as above. Buy the directional pad. Buy the cluster. You can program it with forscan to save coin. Or find a local that knows how to use it. But the v6 is no different than the v8 in context.

My 14 gt(manual) gets about 160-170 max, I’m on e85 and a FF exhaust, I used to be on a 100 shot. How are you getting 250, damn I wish I got that mpg.

You just get the button switch. Every 13/14 has the premium style wheel just not the same buttons. You’ll need to buy the buttons with the arrows

I dont know why everybody cares so much about 0-60 half of it is about traction and launching. It is not a sign of how fast your car is. You can add power and be slower 0-60 because of spinning 0-60 is one of the most useless stats in automobile history imo. Too many variables.

Hey Jacob after watching your videos I decided to switch my 2014 base cluster with a 2014 premium cluster. Only problem is I don’t have any of the track apps and the mycolor option doesn’t show as well as non of my gauges (ex: oil, fuel ratio) are on there as well. Any idea on what I would need to do? @@Alciar94APR have them change the as built data, you can find it on the motorcraft website, make an account and put in any premium vin number and it’ll give you the as built data, just find the set of numbers that go with the gauge cluster and it will work once they enter said numbers

No offense but that wasnt a good reason to sell a car. Nothing special about a premium. Just a bunch of tacked on stuff that you can add to a base if you want...i like the base because its lighter.
