@@dw7704 as cool as it is, there's way too much to risk for a couple thousand dollar instrument to easily get broken, stolen, lost or modified any further. letting the fans and future generation see the instrument would be better than it being destroyed accidentally, even his personal guitar come up on display time to time, it would be a heartache to see a piece of history be lost over something minor and tragic.

Randy Rhoads? a guy who never made the top ten of guitar greats and the few still trying to make him out to something he wasn't..
@gpgpgpgp1000
@gpgpgpgp1000 2 года назад
@@BlueberryStinkFinger62 You don't know what you are talking about. Randy was an incredible player and inspired Metal players all around the world. Aside from the not-so-great Quiet Riot albums, he only recorded two studio albums worth of his awesome playing. If Randy had lived he likely would have done another dozen or so Metal albums before moving on to Classical guitar.

Just picked up my first Jackson, A RRXT from around 2013.... One of the best overseas Guitar I've owned, neck thru construction, neck is amazing (rosewood fretboard, super dark) Love it, currently have 23 guitars...most bought from money my mom left me.(My Mom passed away in 2017, she told me years earlier...I won't leave you a lot, but have fun with what money I do :), I did !!! and think of her every time I play them 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Wow. I've seen the RR3 on four different channels in the last month. That thing is touring more than most bands! ;-) I have to say, however, that it hurts to see that the guitar was modified since Grover built it. I get that an owner can do what he wants but it would have been nice if it stayed just the way Randy would have received it.

Even though Randy didn't get a chance to play it, it still has his design input. He obviously knew it was going to be his. I would pay whatever I had to to get it, lol. It would be played as well and not hidden away in a case under my bed. As much of a fan I am of Randy's, and not just for his playing alone but how he carried himself as a person, I wish I had the cash to buy it. But like most of us, all we can do is watch the videos and read the articles to appreciate it, since that's as close as we'll get to the guitar.

Wanna know the funny part of this video for me? I watched it while holding and playing my OWN first Jackson! Of course, it's a FMIC product instead of being Jackson/Charvel, like the Charvels I owned and lost to theft in the last century, but it was still cool. Now, something that many will not think is cool. Were I as rich as I would need to be to buy Randy's prototype, I still wouldn't! I would actually be more likely to buy a current RR3 or something similar if I wanted that look. I would even more likely just get a good Dinky with a Floyd or something I could modify to taste. My having learned much of guitar modification and adjustment has taken a lot of the mystery out of guitars for me. I'm less taken with the prestige factor and more with taking a given axe and making it more than it was when I got it. Making it MINE! Know what I mean?😎🤘

We were both about 18 years old and my dad forced me to take four lessons that he prepaid for. I didn't want to take the lessons but I was really glad that I did what I met Sean and I learned from Sean to move quickly and stop smoothly. I basically grew up a Strat guy as I was learning to play, but all the same I was deeply in lust with the Jackson Rhoads. In regard to your comments of it sounding basically like a Les Paul, that doesn't surprise me knowing that Randy also had a Custom as one of his main axes. And while this guitar is by and large the final prototype of the production Rhoads, it's still one of a kind in a way. I think this will probably fetch mid six figures at auction.

Brass parts! Makes a difference, PU’s direct to wood is cool, but brass parts translate the tone better, plus the strings through not only the body, but another piece of brass, I’ll bet Randy wanted brass, I’ve found it to make a difference, the focused attack…..the other sound key were his Altec loaded cabs, i met Seymour Duncan in 1980 at his shop in Santa Barbara, with a friend buying 1/4Lb jazz bass PU’s, mid eighties I bought a JB for a guitar I had…..now all my guitars have a JB in the bridge, it’s the tone I want to hear

Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion Bridge Pickup and Seymour Duncan SH-2 Jazz Neck Pickup is exactly what Randy asked for and this Distortion Jazz Combo was Stock Pickups until idk 20 years ago, they changed to the Slightly more Tame Duncan JB Bridge and 59 Neck Pickup, Weaker Tone and Pick attack in my opinion, that Ceramic Magnet in the SH-6 Duncan Distortion has a Killer, much more Fierce Grinding Tone, More Percussive Pick Attack than compared to the Alnico 5 Magnet Jeff Beck Duncan, which I Don't understand the Logic in changing to a More Tame, Less Metal Sounding Bridge Pickup? I mean Look at the Randy Rhoads Model Guitar, quite Possibly the World's most Heavy Metal looking Guitar ever Concieved, Maybe the Guitar Players who buy the Randy Rhoads Model Guitar will want to have the Same Pickup Jeff Beck wanted!? WRONG! Lol 😂

I heard Randy had over 5 Jackson's sent to him during the Diary tour and had a number of mods because he was frustrated with the fingerboard, he wanted the les Paul pearl in lays so its as like his les Paul and swapped pick ups to match the les Paul as well
