I just received my Revel kit and I got Jessica, Satin, Coco and Hola. I'm waiting on more small sizes of Rose quartz to restock in addition to Citrine, and now, Margo on my wish list. To save money, I bought the darker colors in the 0.5 oz. jars. Thanks very much for sharing. I hope my manicures come out is pretty as yours.
KaT _G just got my starter kit yesterday...I was scared that I would mess up, but I actually love them. I even ordered more dip powders last night. Pretty good deal for $30
Thank you I love your video on the dip powder kit you are so positive and so thorough when doing the video and I just started using dip powder polygel is my favorite I've done acrylic everything try them all I do own nails at home I'm pretty professional doing my own and I just wanted to thank you for this video please do more videos❤❤❤
Dip helps keep your nails strong during growth. My nails grow like weeds under my dipped nails, as long as I dont use plastic tips. If I have length issues I will use coffee filter tips.
I have a couple of questions about using the peel off base coat. 1) Does the peel off base coat cause lifting, or make the manicure not last as long? 2) What is your method of remove dip nails after using the peel off base coat?
Love this. please explain what you had a problem and how you resolved it. I could NOT understand clearly. I am retired and can NO longer afford the monthly $40-$60 cost. also how do you take it off thank you
hi! i have a playlist for dip powder removal techniques that i recommend you check out. as for the issue i had, i can't quite remember as this video was uploaded awhile ago. i think it might have been something with the base and top liquids drying relatively quickly. to solve this, you really just have to find another product that is more slow drying.
i actually have a video on my channel dedicated to tips on my filing and shaping routine! i would recommend checking that video out. i am thinking though of making a whole dedicated video to my filing routine because i get lots of comments about it!
Whats your favorite dip system after trying out a few? I ordered Azure off Amazon but wondering if i need to return it and order a different brand lol it comes in today! 🙏
did you have any issues with the brush getting hard and not being able to use it!? i got the red carpet dip kit a few days ago and i’ve used it once and the brush is already hard that i can’t use it any more so i’m looking into this kit!
hi! i have experienced this before. it’s most likely due to activator or powder getting stuck in the brush. i find that wiping off the brush constantly and thoroughly cleaning the nails is best 🤍
I've been looking for the answer everywhere!! I think I'll be buying a kit. How many "wears" (how many uses) you can get from a 0.5 oz ? Just wondering if its worth getting the kit with 4 0.5oz vs bigger containers :)
hi! you don’t necessarily need to but you could if you wanted. i would recommend applying a dehydrator (prep liquid) before the peel base on the natural nail and the following it with a layer of peel base. 🤍
@@katesnails Do you have a code I can use for sparkle and co. I think I'm going to order the liquids. Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate it so much!
i assume you mean biting? if so, my best tip would to always have them done with product (especially dip powder). i find when my nails are done and hard with dip, it is less tempting and harder to bite them.
So on my starter kit, I didn’t get the 2nd powder you used on step 2. My nail person started me on this dip and my nails look beautiful but with the Covid shut down she suggested we buy a start kit and it took 4 weeks for them to ship. But I ONLY got the one powder with my set so what was the other powder you used as it sounds like it was not a revel product?
hi! yes the second powder i used (clear) was not included in the kit and it is from sparkle and color instead of revel. it isn’t absolutely necessary, but i like it because it protects the color underneath from filing! revel also sells a clear but i have not tried that one.
How long does your dip last with the UNT. I tried it and they popped off the next day. Do you use the technique of dipping in clear first and then applying the peel off?
hi! normally i get them to last 2-4 days. however, i tend to take them off prior to that. normally i just apply the peel off base over my natural nails, but i find doing it over the clear dip makes them last a bit longer!
a clear coat isn’t absolutely necessary, however for me personally i don’t do a dip mani without it. i find that if you don’t use a clear layer, you can sometimes take some color or glitter off and have an uneven color application.
hi! it’s probably due to an improper application of the activator before followed by the top coat. it is best to apply the activator, let it dry and then wipe off excess, and immediately go in with two layers of top coat. if this just isn’t working, i recommend using a gel top! 🤍
@@katesnails that's so good to know! Main reason why I like revel nails is because of their vast selection of dip powders but there are other dips I like too lol
New to self powder dipping at home due to salons closed I ordered revel starter kit nd a griller nail alcoholic Haha but I didn't order the clear dip u use over top will it still work with out the clear base o know it's a must recommend to use with the glitter my nail in desperate need to be done nd I'd like to use kit when comes nd order the clear powder will it work or is it a must
When you bend each finger into the powder, is it still at a 45 degree angle? And when you dip it a second time right after, does it help cover the nail more? Do you use both methods just for glitter powder, or would you recommend it for solid color powders as well?
good questions! recently i’ve been dipping the nail more flat to the powder (i find this method works better for glitters) but dipping at a 45 degree angle also works great (i’d say better for solid shades). dipping the second time just is a good way to make sure the whole nail is fully covered with powder!
hmmm. it may be because you let the top coat dry too much between coats but tbh i have always struggled with dip top coat application. that’s why i typically use gel because it’s so much less of a hassle! 🤍
I can’t use any dip top coat for this exact reason. It’s always streaky no matter how fast or slow I am. I’ve tried soooo many times. I always use gel. Gel is shiner anyway and just better to work with as far as top coat goes.
oh gotcha! if you didn’t use the clear powder, you risk filing away the colored powder underneath. this could mean taking patches of color off, filing the shine off glitter, and making the product uneven. that’s why i highly recommend clear to protect it!
i have experienced this as well. generally i find its due to not applying the activator properly before hand. the activator is necessary to help properly cure the top coat. i also just don’t really like the revel dip top coat so usually i go in with a gel 🤍
katesnails it took me FOREVER! I took the top coat off three times. I finally buffed the mail to a flat, smooth sheen and after that I applied the activator, waited then applied the top coat and still only one nail is completely smooth and the others are all shiny with slight imperfections that are not noticeable. I only got one hand done last night because it took me so long, lol.
Im a nail biter too and using dip has helped me a lot. Now have longer nails. But wanted something at home instead of spending so much money every 3 weeks when i can do it at home.
Hi! Can I use any clear coat like from amazon? I ordered the starter kit from revel but didn’t know I needed the clear top coat. 😬 I just don’t want to pay the shipping fee again. Thank you!🙂
