Amazing build, I'm too old school for those modern low profile wheel sets, they just look toyish even on real cars. Great video!

Love the build! I immediately clicked on the video once I saw a 2nd gen TA 😃 I build my own custom F-bird back in the late 70's. She was a 72 Esprit, and I made her into a Formula/TA custom. I had her painted midnight blue metallic with a saddle int. mostly out of a 78 TA. The engine was a 400 out of a 70 GP which I rebuilt, with a 400 turbo trans. I had a Formula hood with all the TA flairs too. I didn't put any stripes on her though. When I was done, she was fast...and totally unique. Thanks for the awesome video, and the memories you stirred up for me!

I like the shaker breather painted body color, that is how I did the 2 kits I built. I just think that the shaker should stand out and when it's painted the same color as the stripe it kind of loses that detail. It's a beautiful build and Thank you for sharing. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE

Crazy cool build! Myself, I would've went with a white scoop.. then go on to regretting I didn't go body color with it. Great choice. 👍 The lowering job? It's on your shelf, looks great. Sitting on my shelf, it would look even better! 😂 Cool build! Keep on building and posting your videos. I like everything you have been doing.

Beautiful build, but those wheels and tires totally blow ! Dancing Bear makes some really nice aluminum wheels. A Pro Turing car in that body style usually has deep dish 17s 18s fats over monster disc brakes. A roll cage too, but to each his own. The paint and body is however, outstanding !

Tom, as usual this is an inspiring and amazing build. Your style is so clean; you achieve more realism with less detailing this way. Your color choice and customization, engine, etc. Is exactly in keeping with the latest American trends. I do prefer the body colored scoop, and the fasteners for the rocker covers would indeed be bolts! Thanks for what you do.

Especially amazing considering these Revell kits don't exactly glide together like Tamiya kits do. I've built this particular model before, he made it look easier than the time I had with it.

Wow, awesome job on this, really came out nice. I like the body color on the shaker scoop, I've actually seen 1/1 scale Firebird's/TransAm's done that way. Looks great either way but as long as you like it that's all that matters. Thanks for sharing, have a great day. -David

Another awesome build mate. I think the red scoop looks amazing I feel like the white needed to be broken up a bit. I kind of miss the old music from a few series back not that it matters as it is the build that is the main focus of the vid
@destruktor5hundred296
@destruktor5hundred296 Год назад
As always, phenomenal work! I still have a lot to catch up on, but the firebirds have always held a special place in my heart. Plus the custom parts look amazing, and the color scheme you went with is gorgeous. I do think the red scoop is a good way to break up the line. There's one thing I wanted to point out though, and I hope this doesn't come across as obnoxious or preachy, as I only mean it for informational purposes. The tires you've gotten for it are rotational, which essentially means they're grooved in a single direction instead of a generic split pattern. If I'm not mistaken this improves road grip and lends itself to a very sporty look for a lot of cars, and sometimes is used for weather-related issues like Michelin's Agilis CrossClimate2. The big thing about them, though, is the way they're mounted. Normal, split pattern tires are mounted with the same side facing out on all wheels. If you look at the bottom of the car at 11:02 though, you can see that the tread forms a sort of arrow on each side, with the arrow pointing towards the rear on one side and towards the front on the other. essentially, you want them *both* pointing at the rear for realism. Of course, this is a really small and trivial detail and is purely functional, and like you said, it's a model kit and functionality isn't really a thing. The kit looks great and I can't wait to see more of your work!

I thought the cherry colored engine scoop looks hot. I immediately said it to myself. BTW, I don't know where I came across this tip (could have been you), but I coat all my chrome parts with Tamiya Smoke paint. You could do that instead of what you do at 6:04. It gets rid of that cartoonish look that everybody talks about with Chrome and is such a time-saver to just run all your parts through one layer of smoke.
@TheScalemodelingChannel
@TheScalemodelingChannel Год назад
Wasn’t me🫣 The part at 6:04 is to create a real mesh look and only fill in the lower areas. I’m not coating the flat pieces of chrome😄
@wwiiinplastic4712
@wwiiinplastic4712 Год назад
Yes, as stated he's just using the Tamiya wash to bring out the mesh detail. I use it on anything with a screen: cars, tanks, aircraft, ships, etc. Some of the people I know who deal with the chrome itself either throw a clear coat over it to take down some of the toyish shine or they strip it off and replace it with a chrome or silver paint. I have a rattle can of Rust-Oleum (maybe Krylon?) chrome that I use after stripping. Easier than having to match the areas where it was attached to the sprue or if there was a lot of flash that got chromed.
