One of my favorite cars. I love the '71's. When you first took the body to the spray booth and shot the bottom edges, it looked like the paint scheme of the '72 Sprint Mustangs. I sort of surprised no one had make aftermarket decals for one.

I owned the 73 Mustang in yellow and black so this body style is close to my heart. I’m glad Revell made it and it might be their greatest kit ever. Also I love that Stynlrez primer. Amazing stuff. I highly recommend it. Thanks for the video Angelo. 👍

I've started to also separate parts by color into a drawer organizer. Love my Tamiya paint stand, but I've also had an issue with it coming apart at the most inopportune time. So I be sure to hold the upper portion and not just the base. I also use a latex glove on my left hand just to keep from painting myself. Lol. Got this kit in the stash and it will be started soon. Peace and love.

Yeah I didn’t think of the glove until after. Usually I shoot water base but the blue wasn’t. Lol. Thanks for watching!

I have the same gripes with every muscle car build. It doesn't matter what company makes it...amt, revell...they all insist on molding door handles and windshield wipers into the body. A few times now I've had to re-etch and restore winshield trim after carving off the wipers. I have zero intention of ever hand painting molded in detail pieces. They look terrible in my picky perspective. The kit looks great aside from my gripes. Look forward to seeing more build vids. Subbed

Thanks, I do the same. Frustrating when a part has two or three colors, and deciding which color to do first. My big issue is a dusty environment:(

Tamiya paint stand is 2 pieces, it's designed to come apart for ease of painting and less weight, less fatigue. I use old 1 inch pipes wrapped with masking tape which leaves just a tiny unpainted circle on the underside of the roof, which then gets painted by hand and a liner installed. you can use 4 inch by 1/2 inch wooden stands with the pipe hole cut out and use that as stands for the dehydrator and in a safe doored cabinet, it's easier and more versatile than the tamiya stand and you can have multiple kits all gassing out with a few dollars spent in materials. Great video! good luck with the touch up, it's annoying but easily fixed. MI had 2 hit the floor together while painting both and they ended up with all kinds of dirt and nastiness. Went right into the purple pond and had to start fresh lol.

Thx Angelo, look forward to this model building series. After painting, do you ClearCoat, then decals, then another layer of ClearCoat?
@AngelosWorkbench
@AngelosWorkbench 9 месяцев назад
It depends on the paint. Water base has to get my 2k first because the decals with water damages the paint. This blue can take decals on it then clear because it’s not water based and it’s shiny. If the paint is flat and you decal you can get decal silvering where you can see the decal. It’s got to be shiny. So that’s what I have found. When in doubt clear first and then after. Some guys don’t clear over decals - that’s a choice too. Thanks for the great question!

I glued my paint stand with hot glue so it's fixed. I don't recall who's YT video it was, maybe the scalemodelling channel or IMS where I got the idea, but thanks anyhow.

You know - that’s a great idea. I can’t believe that didn’t dawn on me. I’m surrounded by every kind of glue there is. Lol. I’m gonna glue it! Thanks again!

@@AngelosWorkbench Sure thing. You could also drill a small hole through the upper part and put a screw in it.

Aloha, I can't imagine how I've missed it. Please forgive me , but where did you get that ridiculously cool parts bin box that you use in this video? Mahalo in advance, Steve

Hey there Steve. I got the parts box at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately there’s not any on the islands but you might be able to order it online. 7 degrees up here in NY right now - wish I was on the islands. Lol. Thanks for watching!

Hi, always nice videos and buildings! I have had reactions many times with automotive paints on plastics, especially non-white ones, and many recommend 2K primers for sealing plastics. Does this water-based primer give the same protection? Lacquer primers do not. What airbrush and settings do you use for that primer? Thank you.
@AngelosWorkbench
@AngelosWorkbench 9 месяцев назад
Hello and thanks very much. The stynylrez has never failed to protect my plastic on any of my paints. I use an Iwata HP-CS 0.5mm tip and 25-30psi. Thanks again.

Hi, I tried the Stynylrez white primer, but found it thick and difficult to spray even with the Eclipse 0.5mm. It was a jar bought years ago but still unopened. Do you know if its thinner can evaporate over the years even if it is new? How could I dilute it? And I also found that it sticks really well to the metal of the airbrush. What do you use to clean it? Thank you. @@AngelosWorkbench
