Income is not defined by the Internal Revenue Code. Gross income is. Taxable Income is but not "income" itself. The Supreme Court did define it however for purposes of the 16th Amendment and they defined it as a "Profit or Gain derived from capital, from labor or both combined". The key terms there are "profits and gains".

It is! It's a source of your income. For most seniors, it's their main income. But it's only income when you collect it (not while it's just accumulating in a fund). While it's in a fund, you can count it as part of your net worth, but not your income.
"Why are our employees receiving only a one-thousand-dollar salary when our revenue over all these years has been fairly one hundred million dollars? He asked angrily. "This year, our net profit has been exceptional." "No, my income only comes from my employer! He denied.
