There is lots of choice if you want to run navigation from your smartphone, but over the last few months I've been checking out Rever. It does everything you would expect a navigation app to do, but it's got a few extra features up its sleeve including compatibility with Apple Car Play. So in this video, I take a look at the phone app and desktop use, create a route and jump on the Africa Twin to test it out. For more information on the app and what it can do, check out www.rever.co/
The phone is secured with a Quadlock mount and case, for more information you can see the complete range at www.quadlockcase.co.uk/
Intro - 00:00
Phone App - 00:21
Desktop route planning - 02:07
Testing it on the road - 04:20
Conclusion - 13:31

Thanks for this - I signed up earlier this winter for Rever and haven't had any time to use it. Looks like it was a good choice.

Put on Gear ( Jacket) Turn on helmet headset (Cardo) Put your helmet on. Plug the phone into the bike. Turn the bike on. Press ok. Start bike. Open car play. Open rever on bike. Open rever on phone Choose favorites on the bike. Choose to ride it. Turn on CB Connect CB bluetooth. Mount bike Put on gloves. Ride. No big deal! It like starting 5 1937 Harley's LOL! Thank Man. You have been very helpful. I have used it for three days now without issue.

Hi Tony, cracking video and review as usual - will be checking Rever out (currently use Waze). As a keen motorcyclist and a horse rider it was great to see you pull over. It is massively appreciated by horse riders and nearly always it is motorcyclists who are the most accommodating. Most people think horse riders take horses on the road for the sake of it. I only ever ride on a road as a very last resort when trying to get to another field and because I don't have horse box. Thanks again for a great video sir.

Great review. I am looking for something like this to replace my old TomTom app that I loved for all around navigation including winding roads type routes that I love to follow with my little roadster. Tell me - do you find that this app would also function well as a standard navigation app in your car? Or should you have two apps, one for the winding back roads functionality and one for general motorcar navigation??

I downloaded and tried this one. It's a "NO GO" for me. #1 It's on a phone that if you loose signal you are TOAST. #2 It's on a phone that you can't see in bright sunshine. #3 It's on a tiny screen. #4 A dedicated GPS does NOT rely on cell towers and is easier to read. I have been using a "Beeline" unit and their software. EFFING bulletproof! You can download their software for free on their sight. Works on your phone and you can buy the BEELINE pointer for mounting on your bike. I have a unit on all my bikes now. Genius Tech. Even if your phone craps out it will still remember the route albeit without route updates. Best thing I ever bought!!!! Great channel SIR!!! 🙌👏👌✌🖖🤙👍👋🙂

Tony great review as always. Quick question. I don’t often ride near any horses, did you pull over and turn off your bike to keep them calm or was it just a coincidence? Btw my step brother lived on Dick avenue and he was quite thrilled when he moved away. 😀

I've had several complications with rever. The "auto pause" is real fun. I was at a stoplight in heavy traffic. Light turns green. A minute later, I look to see where my turn is at and my screen shut off. No biggie, I can hit a button with gloves. Now it wants my fingerprint or pattern. Not safe to do in heavy traffic. This was the 3rd attempt to use the app. The first 2 attempts: the screen froze, next I was unable to put route in. Oh yes, also, you can't get turn by turn Navi unless u pay for Rever Pro...
@mancavemoto

I must admit, I now prefer not to use my phone for navigation. I find a dedicated gps or something like the Beeline are a better/simpler option, for some of the reasons you've stated.

I'm using an 8" Samsung Active 3 for navigation. All the mapping apps I've tried so far, dim the screen presumably to forestall the screen burn-in. Does Revver give you a chance to keep the screen bright so it can be seen in bright sunlight?
