Welcome, I grew up hanging out at Revere Beach quite often. Today I explore a bit of it. July 12, 1896 is when it became America’s 1st public beach. Thanks for watching.

First memory of this beach is when I was 3 years old. The very first memory in my head. I was with my uncle and cousins and wandered off and got lost. Some guy saw me crying and took me to Kelley's and then back to his blanket. My uncle finally came around and found me. Thank god this guy wasn't no good. Then I spent many a weekend at the age of 11 on the beach. Amusements were so fine. I miss the old roller coaster and wild mouse and the whip. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the tour and old pictures. I grew up in Revere in the 1960s. Here are some memories. Several times every summer, dad drove our whole family in our non-air-conditioned brown station wagon to the ‘rides’ at Revere Beach. It was a short trip to the storied amusement park by the sea, and once we found a parking spot, we made our way excitedly to the action along the long boulevard, spending time twirling on the Flying Horses, defying gravity on the Round Up, and strolling the wide lit up sidewalks. People from all walks of life slowly passed us by as we all melded into a moving web of humanity enjoying a summer evening. Across the street was the sand and ever-present ocean, where just a few hours ago, thousands of sun and fun worshippers had laid out blankets, beach towels, and suntan oil, to soak up the hot sun. A few dozen teenagers still lingered and were leaning against the cement seawall, with a few of them making out in the darkness. As we made our way along the sidewalk, all of our senses were deliciously overwhelmed with the sights, sounds and smells of each open-air storefront. There were dozens and dozens of games of chance intermingled with carnival food like cotton candy, hot dogs, ice cream and pizza. Each stand was its own spectacle with several carnies shouting out “a winner every time,” and “only a quarter.”

A great video Joe, thanks. I always come down to the beach for the nice salt air, as I have allergic rhinitis and have to get away from all the tree and grass pollen. Ah Choo!

Joe I lived in that white shack (tripple decker) 2 doors to the right of Bianchi's in 1991. Stayed there for about a year. My father used to take me to Bianchi's almost every weekend in the 70s and of course I continued the tradition when I was younger just like you for other reasons (and the pizza 😁) when I was on my own. I'm in central Florida now but I'm coming back to see family very soon and I'm going to be on Revere Beach for sure reminiscing. I'm going to go to the new location of Bianchi's Pizza for a nice old-fashioned piece of pie. Boston your my home!

The bridge you showed leads to Wonderlsnd T station, not Revere Beach. Revere Beach is the next stop to the south of this.

Those new buildings that have been built in the past few years are NOT condos. Unfortunately, they're all apartments.

Not to not pick but the photo you showed could not be from 1896 as it had cars in it. Just saying…
