We watched them grow together, fall in love, marry, have their daughter, win medals and just when they had everything going for them tragedy struck. RIP Sergey. You and Ekaterina will always be our #1 couple.
He always picked her up as though she was light as a feather. My forever favorite skating pair. Their rise from youth to their romance, marriage, birth of daughter, many wins to Sergey's death is a story of love and tragedy of which many experience. They were graceful and had so much going for them. We cried with Katia when Sergey died.
@@user-yq1qh2qn1v Anyway I was thinking nearly the same few days ago. My first answer was pragmatic. But I can tell you, my friend, that she lived as in a fairy tale (everything was perfect and magic) until Sergei's death. Then she started to live as a normal woman.
Yes, I recorded all of the performances back in '94 on my VCR because I couldn't watch them live, and when I saw this, the perfection took my breath away. I kept this performance and I show it to guests. Good to see someone else on RU-vid appreciates it too!
Breathtaking and so beautiful! The best pairs skaters ever! Their elegant skating along with the way they look at each other with so much love and the music is absolutely beyond compare!

I saw them do this at a Stars on Ice performance, I was sitting in a chair along the ice and to date, it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life, their artistry, perfection and the love they conveyed to each other. I still get chills thinking about it. There were truly extraordinary.
Watching this program, I can't help but wondering why pair skating doesn't look like this today. Often skaters pack their program with alot of technical difficulties, leaving little room for great choreography, and artistry. I really miss the old days, maybe it's just me-sigh
29 Feb 2024 You're not alone. They were an exceptional pair. I continue to watch their performances, especially their 1988 gold medal win in Calgary: unlike today's skaters, they had it all from a very young age.
There will never be another Pair like them. They chose not to just work together, but to be a team. There’s a difference. Pairs today dissolve after one bad competition. A team stays together despite a bad competition. They did fall in love and their daughter looks just like her dad. I cried and cried when the news broke that he died.

Aceasta pereche unica fenomenala a dispărut pri.n moartea lui serghei nimeni nu se întreabă dacă a fost ucis sau a fost bolnav n a avut medici antrenor care sa l observe de ce nimeni nu s ainteresat de starea lui de sănătate? Nepăsare sau crima la comanda ? Dacă era în Rusia I se acorda mai multa grija sau protecție!
Ninguém matou ele, ele morreu de um ataque cardíaco. Uma condição que o pai e a mãe também tinham, o pai morreu 5 anos antes dele e a mãe 5 anos depois dele.
