Haven't finished the video just got past the disavow section so don't know if it's in there but what are your thoughts on Google or even John Mueller saying you really don't want to disavow unless you a have manual penalty

I haven’t gotten an explicit penalty, but my impressions have been cut in half. Is this normal with core updates? My site has been going up since August 2023 and now I’m back to my October 2023 impressions. I’m hoping it goes back up once this update has finished. I have a legit brand with great content I feel!
