Good video. I've spent a lot of money on lessons and been told the route of my problems is a reverse pivot, but have never been told how to position my pelvis to fix it. It's so simple and obvious (now). Thank you.
Thank you so much Lewis! I have been struggling with a reverse pivot for over 10 years, ever since returning to golf from a badly broken right left and ankle. (Thinking about it, if you have pain in your rear lower leg and ankle you’re going to be inclined to subconsciously raise that side of your pelvis to lighten the pressure going into your rear foot) In that time you wouldn’t believe how many lessons I’ve had and golf schools I’ve attended yet no one has ever pointed out that basic set-up change which makes it so much easier to sequence the rest of my swing correctly. Take a bow. Simple but so insightful!!
Lewis, you deserve more subs. Great video. So very well presented on a subject I've struggled with for a long time. Thanks for sharing - this one will definitely be useful to many golfers, myself included. Liked and subscribed. Looking forward to checking out more of your videos.
Excellent, I’ve just had a round where I started off hooking everything, and then went to pot by “tinkering” and panicking, searching for cures during the round. It was only in the emergency range session afterwards that I realised that my hips were sliding too far back relative to the torso. When I consciously resisted my hips moving away from target I was hitting it great. But I hadn’t considered that they may even start off too far back in setup - so will bear this in mind. This video captures a lot that I was doing wrong today, thanks!
do you think having an ok setup but allowing the hips to slide away from target during backswing, is also a likely fault? - as I currently feel I have to “resist” the hips from sliding in the backswing - or is it almost certainly more likely to be setup?
Pay no attention to the insensitive comments made by pmich8913. This was a great video for me. The early explanation was clear and concise. The introduction was spot on and a perfect preface to the video. I’m going to save this and go to the range today with it in mind to work on my reverse pivot. Just realized this has been my issue for years. Thanks Lewis!
