In this video, I will tell you how was my REVÍT! gear, jacket, pants, thermal underwear, and boots, on this long trip from Varna to Magadan and back. The gear that I used on this trip was an Offtrack 2 jacket, Dominator GTX pants, and Expedition H2O boots.
During my last trip, I had temperatures from + 3 to 36. All possible riding conditions: cold, hot, rain, mud, wind, and all together at the same time. I also had a lot of dusty days.
I haven't tested the gear only on snow and crash accidents, and I hope I won't be able to do it any time soon!

One good options to get your boots dry is to put inside old newspapers or something similar. It absorbs humidity quite fast. Just put inside and than change it in 2-3 hours. I did it several times while riding BAM road where you have to cross rivers 10 times a day. Thanks for video!
@motorcycleadventures
@motorcycleadventures 10 месяцев назад
I know this, Kosta, but this cannot dry it completely. My boots were wet because I was walking in deep rivers. the water fill them from the top. You cannot dry it for 2-3 hours with newspapers.
@Vollhirni
@Vollhirni 10 месяцев назад
@@motorcycleadventures I think he means, to change against fresh newspaper. Obviously, you can't dry boots that wet in 2-3 hours unless you use an electric blower, and even that I wouldn't bet on. But overnight is a chance with the newspapers. In Finland we also had lot's of water in the boots from the upside, it always meant riding till end of day with wet feet. All we did after such river crossings was pull them off, wring the socks, pour the contents of the boot into the scenerey and reassemble. Drying overnight is easy in a Sauna. Only do your Sauna before putting them in.
@motorcycleadventures
@motorcycleadventures 10 месяцев назад
I agree about the sauna, but with newspapers, it doesn't matter how often you change them, you cannot dry it completely. They will absorb a lot of water, but not everything.

Really useful advice. Thanks Pavlin. BTW... the fastest way to dry boots is to stuff them with newspaper. This method is much faster than blowing hot air inside (take it from a trials rider who's boots get wet inside every day).
@motorcycleadventures

It is almost impossible to dry completely gore-tex boots with newspapers. It might work for MX boots.

@@anotheryoutuber_ Hmm, but if you wear the rain shell over the asphalt barrier, the asphalt barrier never gets wet in the first place = zero time to dry out. Or am I missing something?
@jaimemetcher388
@jaimemetcher388 10 месяцев назад
@@anotheryoutuber_ Something nobody talks about is the windchill from water evaporating off a textile outer layer. Sure, they dry faster, but that very process of drying sucks out heat. As opposed to a fully impermeable rain shell, where most of the water bounces off. I still use goretex, but if it's going to rain all day I chuck a shell on over the top.

I ordered the Offtrack 2 jacket a few days ago based on your review and I am glad to see it held up nicely for someone who rides in way more harsh conditions than me. I just wanted to ask ,because mine hasn't arrived yet, if it gets cold from the small ventilation holes on the neck area without wearing any of the liners?

I bought the Revit 3 layer pants thinking that one pant could cover all weather conditions. It takes a lot of time to take the insulated and the rain layer in and out of the pants. Yes Gortex would have been a much better choice for pants.

@@motorcycleadventures The T-700 is on my Wishlist.. Why On Earth can't Yamaha change the gear rations in the Transmission to a Wide Rato Transmission. There needs to be a low first gear and a tall overdrive 6th gear. All the Did is put a street bike engine into a dual purpose bike Frame. I have been trying to search for an aftermarket solution. I do own a Yamaha FZ-07 street bike ..I have added side cases top case with luggage rack , tank bag and windscreen to it.

Here in South America we also have a very variable climate in the north, very hot with rapid and intense rains, then again heat with a lot of humidity. Then you can get 5 days of rain in a row… Then going down to Patagonia the wind, rain, and intense cold begin. It would be great if you tried REVIT STRATUM GTX and let us know your opinion. Thanks

Do you prefer the Offtrack 2 Jacket compared to the Sand 4 H2O Jacket? The chest venting on the Offtrack seems a lot better for warmer weather with larger vents. Although the Sand 4 has longer zippers on the sleeves. Are they about the same weight without the two liners?

I have 4 years old revit gear. The defender GTX. I put arround 45 000 kms on them but light use I would say, mainly asphalt and civilization :). Except an annoying stud that ripped through the material right at the belt buckle (which I promptly fixed) everythig else is good. I had some cayenne gloves but those tore a hole at the left finger tip (yeah it's me not always having cut fingernails ... but still) and the stitching came loose on the same finger tip I think. Anyways, I don't have revit hands as it were, alpinestars fit me perfectly though. All in all good gear and it looks handsome. Those revit boots though, NO WAY IN HELL am I'm going to pay that price. Heavy duty alpinestars, with gore tex are almost half the price.

How many baby unicorns have to be cruelly slaughtered and / or skinned alive for a 700 euro boot? For comparison , on a 700 euro budget (and some eye for the job) you can buy a proper big bike from an old man's garage that is in a state of "needs some care". And by some I don't mean much. A new battery. An oil and filter change. A carb cleaning. A new fork seal ... Or for $100-150 you can already buy a good work-safety boot. Motorcycle gear industry thinks everyone is dumb or/and blind. Prices are off-the-ground. Be smart.
