Review: 2018 Lexus RX 350 F-Sport AWD - Solid and Sporty 

I have a 2017 Lexus RX350 F-Sport. I have had it for 18 months. I have the Mica Gray color with red leather interior. It is an awesome vehicle. It is very comfortable, well made, solid, sporty and has great acceleration. I get a lot of compliments on it. It is very eye catching. You can't go wrong.

I love my 2018 RX 450h FSport, it takes off when you step on the gas! best thing i have ever owned.

This is a pretty spot on review. I have a 2017 version. I love the vehicle but the 1 thing that I dont like, and its not a big deal, would be the laggy throttle like he mentioned. He's right when he said its not all the time but its almost like its trying to figure out which gear to engage. It reacts a little better in sport mode. The mouse system for the display screen is not too bad. You get used to it. I turn the force feedback up all the way and It feels more responsive. My Fsport also came with heated rear seats and a cell phone charging pad in the cubby under the stereo which this one doesn't seem to have. But more or less the exact same car. Good review 👍

The F-sport should have the twin turbo v6 from the LS 500.

It is true. I have the Non F-Sport version and the instrumental dash is different- separate speedometer and tachometer. The seats are also different. Mine is full leather wrapped semi-aniline. The steering wheel is also wood/leather with wood trim throughout. But I think the seats and wood trim are only luxury package. This model in video is not the full luxury one with all the amenities.

got the full luxury package not the FSport but I luv everything about it..buttons and switches are whey more refined than most of the other competitors luv the HUD and the marklevinson sound

One of those designs that feels a lot more aggressive and bold on the exterior than inside. The inside feels very safe and almost dated.

Audi of late has had excellent reliability. Considering most folks in this category will lease anyway, I can't see why the Q5 or SQ5 is not a much better choice than the RX. 16 mpg and lack luster trans is just not acceptable; Lexus is falling way behind in the powertrain category.

Try manual shifting mode! It wakes the car up!

Matt, I like your videos...but....DAMN, PLEASE TURN DOWN THE INTRO MUSIC!!! It just sounds awful. Now, if you had some metal for each intro, then yes, it would be okay to turn up all those jams way louder than anything else.

If I had the money I would really like one of those Lexus RXs in AWD, I enjoy the styling and they along with Toyota are well known for their reliability.

LOVE how the RX looks in F-Sport trim. Very futuristic and aggressive Easily the best well rounded SUV in its class hands down.

I have a 2017, they are very nice! The front cup holder in the console is adjustable for depth. The safety systems such as the LKA stay on all the time once set to on. My mileage averages 20-22 in mixed driving.

Some advice - we don't want to see your driving or how well you think you talk...show the effn car and point the camera forward displaying the dash and the road

Great car, we are currently leasing a 17 f sport mica grey. Coming from an 2014 Audi Allroad as previous wish lexus acceleration could be little better and I always have to set mine in customized mode. Also missed those Audi solid door thud* but can't beat the quality and reliability so far.

The only obvious reason is dependability. Turbo vehicles dont last. This is a vehicle you put 300,000 miles on them with no problem.

Mileage disappointments as well as the transmission especially for that price range. You pay a premium so over promise under deliver is not acceptable for the brand. I don't personally care for the infotainment screens that rise above the dash and block the view. even if slightly. But overall seems like a nice ride, but falls a little short for what you would pay up for in my opinion. Nice review!

My RX 2007 seems to have the same feeling in regards to mushy brakes and the transmission being tripped up from throttle inputs. Would have expected Lexus to improve such after 10 plus years.

Nice review! I do like the way the F Sports look over the standard RX, but I don't know if I'd go so far as to say "sporty" although my tester didn't have the additional Sport + driving mode the F-Sports have. Does that drive mode make a serious difference?

What are these reviewers doing? I have always gotten the combined MPG...my 2016 RX 350 F Sport is 23.7 mpg in 2000 miles.

It's more ugly than I remembered. Maybe the Crossover and SUV trend will die off a bit.

truth: mpg on the gas models sucks, really badly. it never gets higher than 17 mpg. on the hybrid model though, it gets 28 mpg on avg. mine just got over 10,000 miles and the mpg has been very consistent. if anyone is considering this baby, i suggest that you get the 450h f-sport version. the dealer is willing to let you have it at the price of the 350 f-sport. 😃

My family has a tesla model x and we went to a Lexus dealer and coming from a tesla with doors that are basically hollow these doors are so heavy

Design is nice and engine is adequate. F sport is really a misnomer though. Lack of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is a massive fail in this day and age. The Entune system combined with the mouse-like controller leaves a lot to be desired. The one saving grace is it's size. Competitors like the Q5, SQ5, GLC, X3 are all a bit smaller. So this is a great size for those who need a little more space but don't need something quite as big as the Q7, X5, or GLE. Matt, I recommend you wear your own channel-branded clothing in your reviews.

I have a 2016 Lexus RCF, needed a SUV for this winter, my X5M(2011) has been constantly breaking down. You didn't need to sell me on the Lexus reliability because my RCF with 40k miles has yet to have any problems. I'm going to pickup the rx350 fsport tommorow in white with red interior(same exact setup as my RCF). I just wish my RCF had an interior as good as the RX350 Fsport. Sold me on this car, and getting rid of my X5, BMW hasn't treated me too well especially with only 50k miles on the X5 only. I live in the tri state area where we get a shit load of snow as well and i've even tried snow tires but it's iffy on my rcf.

I'm starting to wonder if this is not a Toyota/Lexus thing when it comes to these transmissions. I feel the same way when it comes to my Rav4 Limited. It seems to be confused sometimes, especially when trying to merge into traffic from a side road at almost a dead start. It's almost like you need a running start. Crazy thing is, it seems to be very random at it's occurrence. Maybe it's just a safety thing to prevent unintentional acceleration, idk, but it's a little annoying.

I've never been fond of the Lexus "spindle" grille design. It looks like an electric razor and a dreidle had a baby. And the grille on the new Toyota Highlander looks like Toyota took the screen off my patio door and bolted it to the front of the car. Good review, Matt. When is the Bullit getting delivered?
