I hit a pothole at that speed once, a really REALLY large one and the rear wheel slightly bent inside and my back hurt for a few seconds after the shock. Otherwise it's this pothole would cause an old car to get a punchure so I think my scooter handled it well enough.

Well I won't be trading in my Turbowheel Lightning/Zero10X for this but that is a really nice design and performance to match! At first I didn't really much like the "deconstructed industrial" design with all those flat and squared-off edges, but the more I look at it the more it's growing on me. Definitely a contender on the higher-end scale of things.

Great Vid Micah. I have this exact scooter (First deliery in Canada). It is a blast to drive but the packaging sucks. Both mud gards were cracked (like your front one) but replaced by the seller. Awesome acceleration and braking power. Silent motors comfortable and good range. Built quality is above my Speedway mini IV Pro by a good margin (also nice machine for the price). You should look in your box, the grip tapes are rolled up and need to be installed by the buyer.

This brand was tasked to build the frames for another scooter brand Weped. They pushed Weped to share more info about the battery and motor but they declined. They wanted to build the entire scooter for them. Instead they went on to design and build their own using a similar design as the Weped. I’d recommend if you want a scooter this fast, I’d save and get the “real” thing.

Is it legal in the US to ride these 40 mph just like that? I mean, in the EU the speed limit for these is usually 25 km/h (15.5 mph, treated as a bicycle). Otherwise it will be considered as a moped or even a motorcycle and you'll need a license, registration, insurance...

As the person before me commented, it can pay for itself in time. But the fun that you can have riding a PEV is something that you can't quite put a price on. You wouldn't know without experiencing it yourself. It's also significantly less emissions and you don't have to worry about parking.

Awesome machine, but all scooters are inefficient as the rider is vertical and has high wind resistance. Some kind of fairing or a seat might help, but something that can be ridden lying down like an electric luge would get the greatest range, as long as you don't become roadkill! I've fallen off a skateboard at 60 mph - I was lucky and just slid to a halt and ended up in a grassy ditch with a couple of grazes and a shredded T shirt. I don't recommend anyone else try to repeat it. 2 years ago I got right hooked on my bike by a taxi and got a broken pelvis after somersaulting the hood and landing on a kerb. I'd definitely recommend hip protection too - a full face helmet isn't enough.

Sorry to hear that. I had an accident on my scooter month ago. A TNE Q4 V4 plus model scooter 2600w dual motors. Top speed of 60kmhr. I managed to get up to 80kmhr. I went out for a long cruise. Landing on the rough Tarmac road on my hands and body. Scrapes to my both my hands. The gloves I wore were thin not proper gloves. Scrapes to my right knee and elbow. Scraped right through my long pants and hoody. Scraped my right hip thigh too. Thankful for my helmet which saved my head and face. Even though it was not a full face helmet. Luckily no broken bones. Just a badly sprained right wrist from impact. I could of been hospitalised. Instead visited my local Doctors medical center. My Scooter is fine just a grind of side of the stand platform. I was travelling at over 50kmhr. My street has road humps. If there were no road humps I could of gone faster. Silly me I was speeding. Should of went straight home after my cruise instead of hooning it on my street. lol. I was so embarrassed when I crashed on my street. I got back up on my feet quickly as tho nothing happened. Even I was in pain. lol. I do have elbow and knee pads. Wrist impact pads. I regretfully stopped wearing. I have upgraded my safety gear now to a padded motorcycle style jacket. @@kiwimon3204 Good anecdote... 80 kmh on a scooter is a bit nuts though! My skateboard incident was 40 years ago (oof!) hanging on to the back of a 125cc bike then getting wheel wobble. Had no helmet nor pads. The country road was flat smooth tar as all the gravel had been worn away, which was why I suffered so little road rash. Still remember the zizz zizz zizz sound as I bounced and slid along! Protection is important especially for not-so-friendly surfaces and sharp immovable obstacles. My 1.5 kW homemade ebike is great - I mostly pootle about on country roads and trails so don't bother with protection for that, but do wear it when riding in the city. There is just too much unpredictability there.

Hi Micah, another interesting vid and wow its amazing how far these things have come in a few short years. However I would urge you to consider now discussing these things from a more appropriate perspective, because with the speeds you are mentioning simple abrasion protection is just a farce, a superficial dressing which will not prevent broken bones, dislocations and severed spinal nerves. Now that these are so fast that they are basically equal to small motorbikes in speed its time to discuss the facts that you should not be doing these speeds on a basic low short platform on two small wheels. I watched your video on converting a motorcycle into a eMotorcycle and its clear to me that you don't have a lot of experience in this area (which is natural considering you came from eBikes). However you should understand that your videos are hugely influential and many who watch them are naieve and easily led. In the interests of saving even one paraplegic or permanent injury I encourage you to now start discussing things like brakes and the reality that these things just can not do a 1G stop I urge any readers to also review the following videos and remember, you're mixing with cars that have actual electronic controlled ABS: Braking distances ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iW8RACCf4GM.html why it matters is shown here, and while watching that consider the speeds, here is only 25kmh, Micah is showing a scooter that reaches three times that speed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UrHwzKaxQlE.html Force (of impact) is equal to weight (you) multiplied by the velocity squared! Please think about this (about me: I have ridden motorcycles for decades (and hundreds of thousands of kilometeres) , I have participated in teaching motorcycle riding safety, as well I own and ride two scooters) Safety is not about the jacket you put on, its about you (the rider). Scoot safe and keep the speeds down (or get an actual motorcycle)

Micah is talking to PUBLIC but also not nieve. There are choices to be made in emphasis. Your points are refined more than novel. Frankly it is absurd people continue to ignore the numbers- people like you. A scooter turns. Braking is about false hope. ABS is only activated because less than infinite traction equipped tools are operated insatiably. Maintenance need not be optional and forgivingly so. Your the driver of a half million dollar garbage truck who burns down a billion dollar hood rather than doom your rig. Watch the classic film about precrime with pods at speed. Those ai pods are turbulent like a car. The ENERGY you cite requires also exponential losses be matched. Micah did not verify the extreme reduction in range to go 42 VERSUS 32 imposes. It ONLY has 1700 watthours. People will be safer than if in cars if using these at MOST saturation levels. I recommend the film showing the daily chore of fishing us as hazarous waste out of bay from jumping. Give people wheels engineered to move them not cars. Or burn millions of us a DECADE as always. MILLIONS a decade- can scooters be worse? Seriously. The answer is NOPE. FOR SURE. NEIN. SCOOTERS THAT GO 200 MPH ARE SAFER THEN model S's. You are no epedemiologist. Your the problem. Feeling vulnerabler is the solution. This model is scary at slow speeds but can get us to school or work QUICKLY. It is not for NASCAR. Not a sport. Reviewed as a tool. Your a wonk, a bike motorhead shitting propiganda BECAUSE your too unaware that is all you got in your head. Micromobility quality is liberty to build and discuss with noble agenda recognising public attention span is seconds not hours. The SAME public HELLO cars have killed tens of millions of ALREADY.

Well you get alternatives which are cheaper than this like the Xiaomi M365 PRO or the recently launched Ninebot MAX.

I do lol. Dealing with physical keys maybe with a near field system like a car is a rarer skill than downloading an app or script and can’t be hacked so easily by who knows anywhere on the planet. Also over connected devices have tons of cyber/electronic problems that can destroy the scooter. I can’t even send/receive emails or make phone calls consistently despite the us spending $700+ bil supposedly on defense. If you’re doing your job I appreciate you but man how tf am I unable to make phone calls or receive emails in 2019? And I’m just some guy trying to go about my business!

This isn't a last mile scooter. A lazy person would not bother with scooter like this nor is scooting lazy.
