Thank you for doing these videos. Hopefully Airstream will notice that there are areas that need improvement. We have had issues with the calibration of the meters on the tanks, particularly the grey water tank. When I actually measured the volume of the grey tank, I found it to be only 23 gallons rather than the advertised 32 gallons. We also had an irritating squeak in the floor that required two visits and a week at the dealer to finally get fixed. Four new bolts to anchor the floor to the chassis. Airstreams QA and attention to detail needs improvement. I think they are riding a wave of consumer popularity and just banging out units. HB

I love your Airstream dislike videos. I always thought they were the Apple of RVs but man the things you are bringing up are just inexcusable in a premium brand. Glad I watched these before purchasing one.

Excellent, informative video. Be careful with the plastic cover over the cable connection cover...it's cheap and easy to scratch. The units do have a very low ground clearance and kept me from visiting some BLM land out west, that towed trailers made easily. One problem was the propane fill connection behind the passenger side rear wheel. You have to be real careful backing into spaces that have the concrete wheel bump or curb....just keep that in mind. There is a lot of length of vehicle behind the back wheels so I rubbed a few times on rolling roads where there were dips, etc. Good Luck

Thank you for the thoroughness of your reviews. Now that you have had time to know your rig inside and out and knowing what you know today, would you recommend this make and model to others who are looking for a class b? Are you still pleased with your airstream? Thanks

Heater is normal for that brand/model (the Atwood 6 gallon). It will look worse over time but keeps on working. Cover too is normal in that all of that brand look like that.

Wow! I thought Airstream were the RR's of rv's! Looks to me it came with built in faults. All these little plastic latches, rusty metal parts. Well........good ol' American ingenuity. This is why I went to Japanese auto. Thanks for the heads up, very well done video!!!!

RVs should all start using the Truma water heaters.

I have fantasized about the Interstate since it came out. Thanks to your videos I've decided that I am over it. I am aghast at the poor quality in materials and fit n finish on something with this price tag. As a long time Airstream fan, I feel like they should be ashamed of themselves.

It's not that bad. These parts come from other manufacturers and unfortunately motorhome parts are usually of cheap quality and overpriced. Probably that heater is just not available in stainless steel... Motorhome equipment seems to be a market where there is just not enough competition to get high quality and reasonable prices... Just look at the price for a Truma combi or dometic fridge, it's insane.. That bolt on the exhaust should have been shorter. Good video, nice to see your attention to detail.

Another good video on the Mercedes Airstream Interstate! The RV/Motorhome world is full of shotty quality and workmanship. What a shame that the Mercedes Airstream Interstate didn't escape this trend. All those components (water heater, furnace, and cameras) are obviously "off the shelf" and not specifically designed for the Mercedes Airstream Interstate. For a $168k rig, I'd expect much better! I'm also looking at the pleasureway.com/pleasure-way-ascent/ rig - same Mercedes type chassis, but less expensive and a bit more attention to detail, like the bed comfort issues noted in your January 2017 video tour. Janky crap back in 2017, imagine the corners cut in 2024. I just crossed them off the list.

Someone will disagree with my opinion, but I would never purchase an RV made by a corporate entity. I prefer to go with the smaller factories that are owned by families or individuals. Why, because they are not producing hundreds, if not thousands of rigs per year. In the majority of cases they (smaller factories) take time and pay attention to detail, which seems to be your main complaint. And rather then be dazzled by the bling they put on their rigs, I take the time to closely examine the things you are now complaining about. Do your own due diligence and don't rely on the recommendations of others. Take recommendations into consideration, but make your own decision, based on personal or paid professional inspection. The result will be a happier experience. It may even cost a bit more, but you get what you pay for......

Not sure why they did not go with instant water heater like Winnebago Era's have. It looks so sloppy inside, such as nice van and you open that door and wow, it does not represent Airstream brand. Not only that it looks flimsy and not flush with the body. Gives the MB a bad name.
