I've had a few cheeper sets but I still like my snap on still have my second set of original snap on over 30 years old started to ware out but a complete new set of snap on and made other tools out of my old ones awl, lock for my air angle grinder, put a hook on a couple different sizes and mahe different types of pullers out of them ... I find that snap on are the best even for my sockets and wrenches working on car's doing bodywork and motor's etc. All the time they are balanced nicely and fit in tight places only other one I do like as a second choice is Milwaukee sockets I have to admit I do like the Gear Wrench bolt / nut extractors they are great for right or left hand threads and have a full set of sizes...

I do like my SnapOn, especially my ratchets. There are other good ones but in my opinion, SO is the best. Thanks for watching. Stay safe

I’ve got the SnapOn Instinct handles in green that I took to the house. I replaced them with the SnapOn hard handle when they had them in power blue last year. You don’t have to spend a ton on screwdrivers, but having a good PH2 is worth investing in. Rarely use PH1 and PH2, except on small stuff (PH1), and flat heads get used as mini pry bars no matter what brand they are.

I keep a couple of old screwdrivers and use them as prybars for getting crap out of tires and such... Have a great weekend bro

Hi Dave! I commented before on your screwdrivers, but I wanted to reiterate how much I like those orange SnapOn hard handles. Have the same set and the rest are SK. Most are from 1990. Flawless!

I love the instinct screwdrivers. After also trying many times to clean them. Iv found a product from autoglym called " super sheen" works fantastic. Mix it up with water in a bottle wipe it on. It cleans them up and leaves them looking brand new. It wont make them slippy to use either. I cant recommend getting some enough dave

You got me a little philosophical as sets of screw drivers gone thru as measurements of time as to our careers like inches on ruler. I started with wood handle Mac's, one left which is the GOAT of screw drivers for running overheads. Next was black handle Snap On's, Got two left. Then triangle Snap On's, none left. Next came that Matco set you had, none left. Then I got a set of yellow Snap On's, have one left, I share your opinion, I liked that handle best of all. Didn't want to spend $200+ for Snap On's, bought Carlyle's don't like having to scrub handles to make clean. So that averages out to seven years a set. Oh I bought two red handled Tectons, not recomended if color blind, hard to see in tote tray.

@OneMechanic 2 года назад
It is interesting how the tools have change through out ones career. Besides the color, do you like the TEXTON screwdrivers? I almost bought those until my SnapOn dealer had the orange hard handles.
@billcovert3473
@billcovert3473 2 года назад
@@OneMechanic it is good, has shorter blade length than the Carlyle, which was what I was after. Handle good grip and quickly able to wipe clean. But I think your Snap On has the best handle of any screw driver I ever used. Not being in a shop I don't get opportunity to regularly shop the tool trucks, so I picked up the Carlyle's at Napa for $45, just don't like the ability to quickly wipe the handle clean.
@OneMechanic

You are probably better off staying off the tool trucks .... lol. Hope you have been well.

I'm surprised they haven't since SnapOn is doing so well bringing back the hard handles.. They probably don't deal with whatever company that made them originally

Wright's screwdrivers are made by Pratt Reed.Vessel makes good screwdrivers too,l have the magadora set which have a striking cap and the hex bolster.Can hit them with a hammer on stubborn screws.More of a specialty screwdriver used on anything Japanese which have JlS screws.l wipe my screwdrivers down with tub o' towels,does no damage to them

I have heard alot of people praise the Vessel's .. might have to be my next try 😃 Have a great weekend

I went with the Tekton torque grips because I don't care about billboard handles that are going to fade away. Plus, they look aggressive. 😁

Hello again Dave Thank you for another Great Video. How long does the coating last? And how well does assist in get screws out? I have a set of Popular Mechanic Screwdrivers that have the grip teeth built into them. This is close to twenty years old. While I spent about $10.00 for the set. They are not fancy but they do get the job done. Again thank you
@OneMechanic
@OneMechanic 2 года назад
They don't have to be fancy or expensive, they just need to work. The coating depends on how much use. But I have never warn it off ... Thanks and have a great weekend
