You’re costing me money; I just ordered one. 😂 Using your link was cheaper than going online without it. Tax included was $425. Good videos; glad you like doing them. I’m an RV’er/camper and Kubota BX owner.

I am going to attempt to use this for a small 350 to 500w space heater in my truck to avoid having to remove the entire dash to change the core out. Thanks for the video, great info.

How can a person be totally objective when companies send you units to keep for free?
@ascagAZ
@ascagAZ 9 месяцев назад
All he did was test it and compare it to other similar units he had. Seemed objective to me. It didn’t power the hairdryer at full power, if he wasn’t objective, he probably would have omitted that.

How? Simply by being honest 🤷‍♂️ My gripe with power bank videos is how often they don't address cost... Because it was free, "its amazing, why wouldn't you get one?"... But a £1,000+ price tag for the 1000w versions is often a good reason not to. These lower end models are much cheaper and IMO can be better justified as a decent product. Something given for free won't always get a favourable review, but usually won't actually consider value for money. As only somebody who has spent that money on it VS the same money on a competitors product can say if they feel it was worth it. For example MANY "content creators" sing the absolute praises of Jackery, however when compared to their competitors products, they fall behind at a similar price point. This is never mentioned when products are free.

Thanks for a good informative video. I'm about 95% sure we're going to buy this model to take in a motorhome for the same reasons you do. 1 question I have is can you add an auxiliary battery?
@ataleofthreecabins1025
@ataleofthreecabins1025 Год назад
No, some of the previous River models did have a way to mount additional batteries for more capacity. Those were not LIPO4 and were only good for about 800 cycles.

I've had a River 2 Max for about 2 weeks. It is a good unit and draining it from 100% to 0%, using a AC 250w heater, I have seen it output 455Wh so a decent 88% of its capacity. Only drawback is maybe the limited inverter which isn't able to power my kitchen fridge/freezer as I suspect the compressor surge is too much.

When you are in a RV, you would depend on solar to charge. its not really efficient. A Honda inverter generator would be an ideal

Can this run a 600w nutribullet? I am thinking about upgrading my EB55 because its so annoying, the fan turns on all the time during solar charging even when the temperature is cool or wattage is only 20 - 40watt solar input. Bluetti customer support is a pain all they offered was a $200 refund. Great video!

I’ve been watching youtube videos all afternoon to help us make the decision as to which one to buy. This is one of the best videos for someone like me who has absolutely no prior knowledge of power stations. I would like to know, and hope someone can answer, once the power station (River 2 Max) is fully charged, will it stay charged and ready to use months from during the next potential power outage? We would buy this for backup if the power went out. So we are wondering if you can store the unit fully charged until we need to use it. Hope someone can answer this question. Thanks in advance!
@ataleofthreecabins1025
@ataleofthreecabins1025 7 месяцев назад
I have multiple power stations. I leave one in our vacation rental in TN for our renters if needed. I check it every 6 months and it loses 3-5% of its charge. I would say that is pretty typical of units that size. For some reason larger one, say 1500whs or larger lose around 10 to 15% in a 6 month period.

If we were to use it only to make coffee (a basic drip coffeemaker) it would run that? And for approximately how many days? Sorry for all the questions
@ataleofthreecabins1025
@ataleofthreecabins1025 7 месяцев назад
I wouldn't recommend a drip coffeemaker as those have a heating element to keep a pot warm. Those would drain your battery in no time. Your best bet is a single cup type coffee maker like a Keurig. I would also look at the Ecoflow Pro, those can handle the higher wattage of coffeemakers ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VNjhRy7dPis.htmlsi=EtoRYnbhlRySshax If you go that route you can probably get around 15-20 cups of coffee off full charged battery.

So this so called xboost lowers the voltage ? Does this hurt the appliances ? Power = voltage x amperage, when you drop the voltage and the power stays the same, the amperage will go up

Hello, greetings. I bought this battery for $370 dollars. Is it a good price? I would like to know what things I can connect with this battery? Does it work for a TV or refrigerator?
@ataleofthreecabins1025

Yes you can connect either. Depends on their wattage usage. A larger TV 3 hours, smaller a bit longer. Best with a smaller fridge or 12v cooler.

What happens if the battery if full and you have solar input? Will it passthrough the solar?
@d0nj03
@d0nj03 8 месяцев назад
Pretty dumb then, as Li batteries age way faster if kept at 100% for extended periods. The whole point of battery-bypass would be to avoid keeping the battery charging continuously just because you want to use the unit as a UPS. If it only bypasses at 100% it's like not bypassing at all, it's useless. But anyway his results show UPS-like behavior, as the computer didn't restart after all, so maybe it's good enough as it is. Might be different with a beefier PC running at 150-200W, who knows.
@JustifyJustin
@JustifyJustin 8 месяцев назад
@@d0nj03 I believe in current firmware you can set your "full" percentage. Meaning you could park it at 85% and not run any risk of damaging your cells. I would be curious to know how much stress a full state for say 20 hours a day does to the battery. I suspect a lot less than a full discharge cycle. Also, "stress" is relative. If it reduces a 10 year lifespan to 8 years, some people would find that a perfectly acceptable trade off.
@d0nj03
@d0nj03 8 месяцев назад
@@JustifyJustin Yeah I see that in their app video presentations, there seems to be a control for charge-discharge percent range, which is great for managing wear overall, not just the scenario I was talking about. But interestingly I'm also seeing the River 2 Max available at a local seller and their online description says the (newer?) device actually has a proper UPS-like function with battery bypass and sadly with only a 30 ms switching time. I think I need 20 ms tops to keep a PC running.

@ataleofthreecabins1025
@ataleofthreecabins1025 Год назад
I have to say there is so much competition in this market right now that most companies are putting out a solid quality product. The battery cell tech rivals most EVs and those are rated for 10 plus years. I think the most vulnerable aspect other than abuse would be the control boards. Time will tell.
