When you buy a bi-directional tool for home use make sure it works on your vehicle make model and year. I bought an X-tool D7 and it works on 21 and 22, of my model only I get updates for every oddball never heard of car but not my popular Asian brand. Skoda, Geely, Changan, SAIC, etc. good to go.

For whatever reason they don't offer the us version of my autel with Bluetooth, so I get a ton of updates for those Chinese, Indian... makes. I've never had anything it doesn't work on though

Yeah, that is true. Most work on brands we’ll never see, but also the ones common to the North American region.

Jimmy your video shows 31 Special Functions, but the VD70 advertises 36 Special Functions. Can you explain why?

Hello what is the difference between VD70 LITE AND VD70. Can you update the software on the LITE to make it the regular VD70?

As far as I’ve heard the Lite is the newer version with about the same capability. It actually costs a few dollars more, but I have tested them against each other to compare directly. Either will be a very capable tool. I just wish it was wireless.

what are the yearly fees on this?

I am not sure what it costs after the 3 years of free updates. It does supposedly work without updates after that point. In my opinion since the tool costs about 1/3 of what Snap On updates alone cost its far cheaper to buy a new scan tool every 3 years. For a DIY'r the updates won't be needed unless they buy a newer vehicle.

I kinda like the interface. The kickstand can also hang it on the steering wheel, which is nice when you're doing an initialization or something that takes a while
