For those that might be new technicians, a heat gun is a valuable tool in order to confirm heat-related ECU or module failure. Thermal expansion of solder joints is not an uncommon failure of automotive electronics.
The electrical diag was like hieroglyphics without a Rosetta stone for this DIYer. You're probably in triple digits by Independence Day. You shouldn't notice the heat in that brand new air conditioning. You guys should probably bring your sweaters and mittens for the cold drive. Have a safe, fun trip.
Your diagnostics on that Toyota is what separates you from the majority out there that consider themselves mechanics. Now I know why they pay you what they do. The depth of your knowledge is impressive my friend!
Happy 4th of July Jimmy! You definitely deserve an extended weekend vacation. I'm surprised that your son traded in his Supra for a pickup. I had an 83 Celica Supra that I really liked. Unfortunately it was terrible in the winter so I traded it in for a 4wd Ford F150.
Hi Jimmy, Check your insurance. In UK if you hardwire dashcam it is considered as car modification and they may decline your insurance. When is powered by the cigarette lighter socket it is considered accessory.
Wow, that’s amazing if that is the case. Here they reduce your rates for having a dash cam of any kind. Only a govt agency or insurance company could see that as a difference, lol. Thanks for the heads up though! :)
If you think you are smarter than the previous generation, 50 years ago the owners manual of a car showed you how to adjust the valves................Today it warns you not to drink the contents the battery…🤣🤣🤣🤣
Happy July 4th from the great white north. . Jimmy your skateboarding. on the edge triggering the Toyota Keyboard. Engineer. Specialist. Loyal. fan boys 😂😂
What happened to your drain pan for that Ford water pump job? Guess the mop needed some exercise? A hard insulation foam piece over the hood latch will save your body from getting poked/stabbed.
Amazed you go home every night and take the time to edit several hours of footage daily, for nearly 2 years. I've been waiting since the dawn of RU-vid for someone to number their videos numerically. Even as a seasoned mechanic I've learned a lot of tricks and tips from you Jimmy, thank you for taking the time.
I dont trust the people who bring stuff in for a check-up. The day you say its working properly, is when they get in their mouth breathing mind that you now guarantee it for the entire summer. When it takes a dump, you become the bad guy because you said it was ok. Lol.
Wow those are big tires, wonder if it has the correct control arms, the kingpin axis of inclination is off if you just slap tires on there you need to move the balljoint location so the geometry and leverage is correct
65k combined miles without a single problem? I seriously doubt that! I’ve had 3 2023 Tundra’s, 1 SR5 and 2 Platinums, they all had/have their gremlins!
Love that color. Had a '22 with no issues aside from wind noise and cheap interior plastics, but that just seems to be Toyota these days. Had to get rid of it because the 1296lb payload wasn't working for me, but a great truck otherwise.
Thank you. Im lucky not to be carrying very heavy loads. They do have updated weatherstrips and a few other interior items. But hope you like the replacement truck!
I have a 24 SR5 TRD sport, which is pretty much loaded. I really like the truck. HOWEVER, I have a very bad vibration at highway speeds under acceleration. 3xs to the dealer. They replaced the rear diif according to my paperwork, but I found zero evidence that a single bolt was removed. The dealer said Toyota will not do anything with it. The vibration can be felt on the floors and through the gas pedal as well as being heard through the truck. The dealers heard it, but so far have they been of no help. I hope you have better luck, Toyota is about to get this one back.
@JimmyMakingitwork feels like the front, half shafts maybe. I thought drive shaft also, but it is cyclic. It starts, get worse, goes away then comes back. All in the span of 3-5 seconds.
I agree with you on a/c! One thing I learned along time ago was the Japanese cars are really particular on refrigerant amounts! If any a/c is going to give you issues, it seems to be Japan models! They work awesome when done right, just really picky! Without a machine!
Bingo. Ive heard so many people argue that a swamp cooler is all you need in hot humid weather. They just don't get the concept of needing a compressor to remove the humidity to truly make things comfortable. Cheers!
