The Atem is a new product for a relatively uncharted territory: air purification on-the-go. For my lifestyle, it made the most sense as an office air purifier, as I don't travel very often. But the unit is small enough to be packed away in most any size carry on.
According to the EPA, our indoor air quality in the USA is poor. With between 2 to 5 times as many contaminants as the outside air. And even worse, we spend upwards of 90% of our time indoors. This is why IQAir developed the Atem. You should be able to breathe cleanly no matter where you are.

Thanks, you're the only reviewer I've seen who actually shows that the spout is movable and can be directed. Not even the manufacturer's video shows that.

You'd didn't mention if it does a good job of CLEANING the air or how much the filters costs and if they're difficult to get. Other than that, good job!

Thats kind of subjective (sniff test?), unless you have a particle measuring device, but its HEPA filter, and likely iQAir will have the data for you.

I always did like the ozone generators until it was determined to be not safe to breath

I am interested to know exactly why you need this thing in America..or florida especially? this is mainly used for pm2.5 pollutants, which are not even a slight problem almost anywhere in America. Sometimes levels get slightly high in california near fires. Also you did not test the actual air quality coming out of it with an air quality meter...I currently live in China, where air purifiers are needed more..just very curious to see someone in florida is also interested in this.

Allot of people in the US...and Florida have asthma and allergies. I have a mold allergy even the slightest mold (present in Florida) makes me sick.

Cigarette smoke from my neighbor which produces secondhand smoke and now there’s such a thing as thirdhand smoke. Pollution is a huge issue.

perfect compact air filter for your pet gerbil or hamster for $400. that just about covers 4 square feet of living area.

Can you turn the Atem on without a phone? Are there buttons?

Yeah the phone thing is optional. You simply tap the side to adjust the settings or turn it off.

Thanks for your review, there are very few RU-vid reviews by actual people and their experience with it, most are auto-readers, reading a datasheet in a robotic sound and flashing various pictures from the internet, ugh.......

This review doesn't cover the Atem's air cleaning performance. Would like to see an air quality monitor data measuring before/after tests. Also, smart is a little dumb. Some people who are sensitive to low air quality are also sensitive to WiFi and EMF radiation and would get sick from it.

Iqair made a trash... it covers just about 3.3 square feet area. i bought it Last week and i got it yesterday in Korea. It doesn't work AT ALL. And they say i can't get a refund.

the company does not have friendly return policies. I bought their iqpro...I am not a fan of this company. customer service is AWFUL.
