Thank you for another detailed review! It's a pleasure to watch your videos! Lovely green color of the model! I decided in favour of metallic-red (fire-red) one by Kyosho itself. It is available for ordering from China. Some buyers had mentioned painting issues with the Kyosho's F40, so I've asked the seller to additionally check that. The delivered scale model does not have any painting issues, however both transparent lights above the license plate have cracks because someone who was assembling the model apparently missed the hollows in the rear grille and instead pressed the unlucky pieces of plastic into the rear grille with excessive force. Apart from that, my example has no other issues. In terms of details and accuracy, this is the very same model that was available about 15 years ago, with the following two improvements: 1. the new "carbon fiber" looks better; 2. a new inscription has been added in the bottom of the windshield.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up!

I don't get the comment about F40s shutlines... Seen a few up close and their shutlines are fine. Sure it's a late 80s Italian car, but also a composite-bodied Ferrari special. The shutlines in the original release Kyosho were also objectively very good, I'd be more worried about these new releases tbh because based on what I've seen so far, they've cut some corners. Great taste in cars you have there! I was rooting for Kyosho to release this Verde Abetone version, but I'm not willing to pay the BBR brand tax to get a Kyo with its still effed up front end and new release issues. It's funny that two most iconic Ferraris of all time (this and 250 GTO) both have wrong front ends in their most detailed, openable die-cast renditions 😆

Why do they sometimes partner with Kyosho? After watching your BBR reviews I had to get the LaFerrari. BBR is one of my favorite manufactures now. Hopefully will add more to my collection

Kyosho has the tooling for the diecast F40 that was available many years ago so it's faster to come to market using the existing mold.

BBR should have developed their own (and should be more accurate) F40 rather than just repacking the old Kyosho version. Maybe BBR and Kyosho ARE under the same company.

kyosho doesnt have the ferrari liscense anymore, they cannot release it without BBR's liscense. Also, BBR's diecast lineup is made by SUM's model, not BBR italy. The QC issues with the laferrari and the f12tdf are very evident, way worse than kyosho's QC. Even if the mold is very old and inaccurate, it's at least made by Kyosho. In my opinion, Kyosho makes better model cars than SUM's model.

@@ivanceo4098 I have not heard of QC issues with the BBR diecast. I have 3 Laferrari 's, two F112tdf's and the MC12. All with no issues.

@@diecastden you're really lucky, cause my metallic red f40 has several paint chips and my laferrari has glue residue near the mirrors.
