I had three shield arms mags that were not 100% reliable for me, and I used up a lot of ammunition experimenting with them and I had kind of given up. Then the PSA mags came out and I got two of them. I am nearly 300 rounds in between the two, and so far absolutely flawless. I simply cannot tell the difference with them and OEM except for capacity.
@@BlackBearOutdoorsI have two PSA mags. One is running fine and the other fails to feed at the 6-9th rd every damn time. So i wouldnt say reliable just stick to OEM
@@synthpunkmusick1661 That is good info thanks. We have been lucky I guess in having no issues with the ones we got. Seems they are not consistent though based on your experience. Thanks for supporting our channel!
I'll be one to tell you something negative. I've put close to a thousand rounds through mine. My slide consistently won't lock back with my black one, but no jams. With my micro slick mag I get a failure to feed almost every mag. I gave up on them and went back to OEM. I really wanted them to work, but mine are not reliable. That's just mine. I've heard others that have had luck. I will say that mine had hanging pieces of polymer on the inside. Even after sanding it down I still have problems.
I got 3. One will not lock the slide back when empty, one sometimes locks the slide back when empty, and one will lock the slide back when empty. When I inspected the mags, I can see the followers did not sit at the same height on those magazine. I will call them and definitely stick with OEM only.
I'm reading some mixed reviews on this tread with the PSA magazines...hmmm? Seems like there are more negative reviews with the 48's vs. the 43x. They are pretty much the same pistol other than the slide length, so I wonder if this is just by coincidence? Anyway, I have a 43x and two PSA magazines. I have put about 75 rounds a piece through them. They have been reliable thus far minus one failure to lock the slide back. I could not get that magazine to repeat this, but I only tried the mag two more times fully loaded. Anyway, overall, they seem to be pretty well made. I have not noticed any plastic shards on mine like others have reported. I have noticed and posted on other threads that the base plates seem to bulge quite a bit, and they are very stiff to load (buy a speed loader!) I plan on putting some more through them soon so we will see. I am carrying a PSA magazine in it right now... perhaps a bit premature of me?
We ran 300 rounds plus through two of them in the video with zero issues. I guess some people had a few that slipped through PSA's QA. The two we have are also in the carry rotation now.
I have the Glock 48 MOS brought to slick PSA mini mags, and I believe both of them had failures to eject when I first got to the range loaded them up again and then they worked fine. Don’t know what to think. It’s a brand new gun and the Stock mags worked fine
To me I guess is what’s the point if they’re not dependable, every body is saying how great they are that hasn’t been my experience so far maybe that’ll change I didn’t get them just for range use, kind of defeats the purpose of competing with guns like the hellcat the P365 and the Smith & Wesson shield plus, disappointing
@@jamesgaller1046 If you get a failure to eject, it is likely not the mags but the gun that needs to break in still. Keep an eye on your slide when shooting. We found that it slowed down every so often right before failure to eject. Just lube it well and keep putting rounds through it. If it is a break in thing it will go away pretty soon.
Our personal experience has been great. We ran roughly 300 rounds through them with no problems. Other reviews have had one or two issues but ours ran flawlessly. We will do an update on them as time goes on also. Seated fine and dropped free no problem too.
You are correct. I must have mis-spoken. It is a lightweight steel that is used for the slide. Thanks for picking that up and correcting the info. Thanks for supporting our channel!
I don't know if it is due to the footage you used with the Glock and M&P, but I noticed that you didn't adjust your firing grip with the Glock as much as you were with the M&P. The recoil also seemed less with the Glock.
The footage of the Shield was when it was getting pretty hot, but I do have a bit of trouble sometimes keeping my support hand steady on it due to lack of space. With the Glock's low bore axis, it feels easier to vice grip it with the left hand.
@@BlackBearOutdoors All worked well with no issues. The PSA are pretty tough to load fully. No strong preference yet, both are out of stock frequently.
I bought two of the PSA’s. Every magazine load 2 to 3 failure to feed. I was using my Glock 48. I bought them because of all the positive feedback over the shield arms. I am extremely disappointed. I’ve been shooting pistols for 35 years. I would like to think it’s not me. I’m going to try them in my 43X and see what happens. If it continues, I’m going to contact Palmetto State Armory.
I just tested my PSA micro dagger mag in my G48 and hybrid G43x today with zero issues. When I first got it, I took off the bottom plate and innards. The interior was nice and smooth so I was happy about that. The 15th round was pretty difficult to load but I did have it fully loaded for a week prior to the range today.
I had issues with mine as well. Tried the various cleanup tricks sanding the polymer burrs inside the mag body. They got better but never close to 100%.
Recover tactical makes a rail you can add on to either make the MOS one full 1913 size, or to add to non MOS versions. They work really well actually, may limit holster options however.
I have heard a ton of negative reviews about both the PSA and the S15 Mags. Do you all really trust your life with these?? No way! OEM or just buy a better more modern gun like the x macro or the Hellcat Pro!
I just got back from the range and tested 2 of these mags out in my g43x and they both ran flawlessly. I put around 150 rounds through them. I will definitely be carrying these now. It's a game changer! I don't have to carry my g19x anymore. 😁. I will continue to use these mags at the range to make sure they still run good.
