Review: BF Goodrich T/A KO2 On & Off Road Performance.

I equip my New Toyota Fortuner with these #BFGoodrichTAKO2 #AllTerrainTyres and review them for their ON & Off Road Performance.
This video starts off with a CLASSROOM session which i filmed pre-installation to have a detailed look at this All Terrain tyre.
Then there is a montage of Off Roading clips which portray the capabilities of the T/A Ko2's.
Being an All Terrain tyre it does need to perform well ON Road as well & in this video i review the BF Goodrich T/A KO2 for Highway performance, Road noise & Ride Comfort too.

Hey, thanks for the appreciation. Yes India receives a lot of rainfall specially where i stay i.e. Mumbai hence the outskirts are a good playground to test the tyres. Regards !

Love these tires.i have them on my Jeep Wrangler and it performed exceptionally well off road in Moab Utah and drives like button on road. Their mud terrains I had before that were stock were bumpy and were bad in snow.glad I upgraded to these ones.

Hei sir, I was planning to change my 4x2 fortuner OE tyres to BF goodrich Tyres. I was thinking of 276/65/17 instead of 265/65/17.? Should i do any modifications to fit them or should i settle down to OE size ?

BF Goodrich are missing a trick there not importing into such a huge market ! I have just fitted these to my 2015 Hilux 3.0 D4d I have high hopes of them having had the previous generation KO on several Land Rover Defenders, over 200,000 miles without any punctures or other problems. Got motivated by your video and got KO2 for my Fortuner. They perform amazing on snow, had tested them at Rohtang Pass. Now the only issue is balancing these tyres...we're you able to achieve a good balance?

Hi My Fortuner is old version. Model 2016 and when I checked the tire it reads 265/65 R17/122S. It is time to replace the tires. Can the BF G tire be installed on the same rim ? Will it touch while U Turing. Or can you suggest me the right size tire of this brand. All terrain of course. Thanks.

Michelin is best for road use Pirelli pzero for high performance car BF Goodrich for off roading So for your swift michelin will be best

Great in depth review again Karan, I have got a few questions; 1) AT Tyres, have a bad reputation for braking in Wet Tarmac/Cement roads. Do the KO2s make an exception. 2) Does Tyre upgrade voids the Toyota Warranty in any way ? 3) The steering of the Fortuner being a hydraulic set up isn’t the most friendly in city conditions. Do these Tyres being heavier than HTs make it worse ? 4) Although the specs are similar to the Bridgestone HTs, these Tyres definitely look bigger (refer to your posts in Insta). Has it increased the over all ride height ?

Hi Mohit, 1) These A/T tyres just like my previous gen Fortuners A/T (Continental Cross Contact AT) are aggressive but good on wet roads (Aquaplaning resistance better than HT). Braking may be a slight disadvantage but reducing 1 psi tyre pressure is the trick during monsoons for better grip/braking. 2) No, as its the same size just a different make so it wouldnt & what warranty are you talking about ? Suppose AC stops working Toyota India wont have the balls to say its because of the A/T tyres. You should know how to tackle these questions. 3) Its Hydraulic but it still is a power steering so not much of an issue, feel is much better than Endeavours electric unit which is boring. 4) May be 1/2".

I'd say if you don't do off Roading and pretty much use it in city then best option would be Michelin Latitude.

Wen u said u imported the tyres did u get the warranty for it ? Because im told that we font get warranty on tyres tat is imported. And how do i verify if its original

When I got these tyres privately imported there was obviously no warranty. However now BG Goodrich has presence in India on a few tyre sizes so warranty will be applicable.

I am using BF Goodrich tyres K02 265/60 R18 for my Fortuner Legender. I need to know what PSI should I keep in them (front and back) if I am using it for city drive in summers in weather of where its 45 degrees centigrade at 1 pm in afternoon. Evenings is 35 degrees. Can you advise?

@@mustuattarwala - Whoever said is not knowing what they are talking about. 29PSI is ideal as anyway while running when the tyres get hot the pressure will rise to 32 - 33 Psi. Hence setting 29 PSI cold pressure is ideal.

No. Thats still OE. I am managing 4 tyre rotation and have a tyre inflator in case of a flat. In emergency anyway the OE spare can be used.

Heard there were Fitment issues & 285/60 need a 2” lift or they rub the mud flaps. Hence did not risk it and stuck to stock/oe size.

Deerghayu, You can consider Pirelli Scorpion ATR is a good option or Continental Cross Contact AT (available till 17"). All the best !

Kaushal, body on frame SUV's are typically having this issue. This new gen Fortuner is better in ride quality v/s the older gen Fortuner. Im used to this and dont find it much of an issue now. Also il try to make a video on the g4. Regards !

As i mention in the video the availability is an issue hence i too had to privately import this set. Im running 265/60 R18 which is the best size for the OE suspension.

i do not recommend these tires, i worked at BFG in Alabama, they are massed produced and built fast so tire builders make more money which leads to a lot of QC problems. tread life is terrible mine lasted 35k. dont get me wrong if you get a good pair you have a great tire that looks awesome but for the price it is to much to chance.

Sai, the g015 yokohamas are good, but these BF Goodrich T/A Ko2's are simply the best All Terrain Tyres out there currently. Hence the choice ...

A/T tyres in 18" ? Im sure you would be aware the options are extremely limited. I believe there is Yokohama Geolander A/T available & then there is an option in Falken. Cooper tyres also may have an A/T option. Any 3 of the said options will be better than stock MRF's of the Endeavour.

@@KKCOnAMotive Thanks for the reply bro.... actually the reason i asked because folks in Endy owners grp are divided on the Yokos (though they are largely popular) because of its affinity towards punctures (as per quite a few of the users). Regarding Falkens, there are really very less users (1 in our group), so not sure about it. Cooper, which you suggested seems a better a option. Will explore and do some research about it. Yes, it will decline due to the pattern, more weight and wider track. Approx 2 to 5% decline can be expected. Regards!
