Impressive model James, those cattle cars sounded really good. The model looked really good, outstanding detail on it. Cant wait to see what else comes and hope to see you do a review of the bli greenbrier when it comes out.
you all probably dont care but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Adam Harlan Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great video!! Yikes what a long wheelbase! What size are your radii? Oh and hey, it was nice seeing you on “What’s Neat”! It’s great to see model railroaders of all ages all sharing ideas, techniques and model reviews!
These locomotives are excellent in every way except for the choice of sound file for the whistle. The hybrid TTT-6 2-10-2 for the UP, that BLI released about nine years ago, had a QSI decoder that did have the correct whistle. I sent BLI a note telling them, about a year prior to their release of the first version of the 4-12-2 three years ago, that their earlier TTT-6 had the correct whistle, and I received an acknowledgement. Very regrettably, the BLI Paragon decoder does not have the correct whistle.
OK, Now we are talking! Does this come with the Paragon 3 that outputs to the rolling thunder or do you need to replace or add something to the engine?
A parrarel line will never touch each other in a plane universe, and said parrarel line is named, freight specialised locomotive, and the other is running at high speed.
Very nice locomotive. I purchased my first BLI locomotive about ten years ago. It had missing parts and a call to BLI and I had them in my mail box two days later. The quality and outstanding customer support sold me on BLI. I just purchased my fourth one, a USRA Heavy Mikado. It also is a very good runner, great detail, and cab figures but no "foot plate" between the cab and tender. I thought it may be a missing part, but no. There is none shown in the parts diagrams for this locomotive or a place for it to attach. Very disappointed as it leaves a big gap between the locomotive and the tender. Reminds me of the toy trains I had as a kid back in the 40's/50's. All four of the BLI locomotives I have are really good runners and strong.
Show us how it pivots and how the lock pin works. Then test / document how it performs on various radii. There's not one video of these anywhere on YT that illustrates this, and when you go to a local shop to see one, they're all in sealed boxes and they won't take one out...I don't care about the sound effects or details, it's how it RUNS that counts!
bmw325iscoupe James mentions that to get the third cylinder sounds, you have to change CVs. I guess he didn't do that for the video. it would also be interesting to note if the smoke chuffs also go to 6 per wheel rev, instead of the nominal 4
No fireman or engineer figures in the new broadways?? $700 loco but can't put a $2 figure in it? Very poor executive decision. Nice looking and running loco though
@@jlwii2000 Thanks James, I am wanting to get this model but was worried about the curve radius mine is over 30. I am relieved now. This monster was just incredible. Great review.
@@jomama05 Unless you were a UP mechanical engineer who filled out the paperwork before and after one of these had a repair, small up to a complete rebuild.
The area between the firebox and the rear truck looks ridiculous with the open area and the extremely VISIBLE spring assembly. For the money, I would expect better detail! The smokebox front looks crooked also ...and NO PEEPS?
