Hey out of darts. Thanks again for the content. I have purchased a second caliburn. I love my first one. One thing to add his customer service is amazing Caption Slug does an amazing job of getting back to you and solving any issues. Glad you have your etsy page As Well your drop leg hoslsiers you sell are amazing best purchase I have mad for gear in a while
the Sentinel color scheme with the baby blue was an interesting choice i really want one of these. im thinking maybe purple and black. though idk when ill be able to justify dropping $140 on a nerf blaster
Good man :) Got one myself and lost my 3D modelling virginity to merge some parts for it on thingiverse. Not only is it one of the best performing springers I own it also allows you to get involved in the construction and design of it in a way no other blaster I have comes close to! The prime with the lowest power spring is SO easy to boot.
I can easily reccomend to make a SCAR barrel for this, and I believe there are awesome tutorials on youtube to make it, and it takes the accuracy of HIR's and adds it to half length and full length darts
It's awesome, but it's by far the most I've spent on a blaster, and it seems everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. From breakages to catching problems to printed parts splitting, etc. It's just frustrating, I don't know if others are having these problems as well but it just kills me. I just want it to work!
contact slug and he should be able to help the catching issue seems like the sear bar isn't working properly, I'm not sure what the print issue or the breakage issues are but those shoullddd be fixable From what I've seen, they are a lil finicky and you need to know the blaster in and out but it is a good learning experience for people to understand homemades and see they're not much different from stock blasters.
Im guessing its home printed/built. Thats your first problem. Second I bet is the rods arent equally torqued. If you have a bowed blaster, there is your answer. Third unless you print from abs, pla is prone to issues. Thus why its a home built.
andrew downey It seems to be working now. Yes it's printed by someone else, out of PLA. I haven't seen any caliburns out of abs. My rods and everything are tightened, I think its just some of the printing.
Hey can you recommend a rc cat for a 3s. I heard these guys plan on making a small printer version. That would be cool. But I know nothing about 3D printers. A recommendation for one of those would be appreciated as well.
What is the least powerful spring one can puy in here? I'm looking for a 100 fps max. Edit: Also can all of the hardware be bought at a regular hardware store like Home Depot?
Hey, you know the kronos? What if you add a return spring, and a slide lock like on a real steel 1911? So that you pull the slide, then with your thumb, push up the lever to release the slide!
He man, little question for you. I have 2 mtb hellcats and a rhino as a pusher in a rapidstrike. Only problem is that I dont now what kind of MaH I can put in it. the clostest what I can get is 1300MaH or 900 MaH. What would you choose?
Hey Luke, dont know if you got the metal plunger upgrade and the scar barrel. It really helps. An angled forgrip imo is worth its weight in gold for the Caliburn! Hope you have fun with it. Btw Mengun full length darts are just about as accurate as worker stefans.
@@andrewdowney760 I got some but they're not astounding for other nerf guns for me. I get good performance from waffles and great performance from FVJs
Does anybody know if i can cut up 4DoomF_left_EU and the right one on Meshlab to fit on an Ender Pro s1, it wont fit on the built plate unless i have a crazy angle and way to many supports. not sure if it needs to be one piece for support or anything or i can just slice it and glue it back. thanks in advance
Captain slug made the Plusbow, the replacement for the crossbow, www.captainslug.com/plusbow.html some of the base for caliburn is from the PCSR! Aeromech built caliburn confirmed (/joking) but you can see the bul pup sear catch really come into inspiration here. Sadly most OG PCSR pics are destroyed due to photobucket (slugs PCSR) nerfhaven.com/forums/topic/27192-machined-pcsr-write-up/
See, I’ve heard about some issues on the caliburn that kinda turn me off to it. It’s fragile, the 3d printed stuff breaks. And if you’ve not got a printer that’s a pain to buy replacement parts. If the threaded rods that hold it all together get out of alignment it starts having issues. Couple other, albeit smaller, things. And from what I’ve seen review wise the prophecy kit with the expanded plunger tube and power stock does just as well in a smaller, sleeker package. That’s less finicky. But not owning either (yet) or used either, that’s my opinion based on the reviews I’ve seen. Take it with a huge dash of salt.
The breaking parts were an early production/design issue, Captain Slug replaced them for free. I have a r2 Caliburn and haven't had any issues, it's a solid blaster. Bear in mind that it's a homemade blaster though, so you do have to tighten/loosen/adjust various parts now and then as part of maintenance.
Tobaganner Typically because people use better sealed barrels, like brass or tight aluminum. The caliburn opts out of those so you can use a larger variety of darts in it; like accustrikes which are too wide for brass breeches.
Lol, that montage. In the view pointed at you, we see the darts fly up, down, left and far right... In the view at the board we see them impact in a square meter. Love the idea, but hey... Not gonna work :-)
Hey Out of Darts big fan would you be interested in me shipping you a homemade K'nex gun that shoots K'nex? You seem to enjoy Nerf obviously but also engineering/design. If interested see my videos or message me. I'd love to introduce you to a toy capable of shooting +275ft angled repeatedly from a toy bought off the shelves. Thanks for your great work and sharing it with us!
there is an original fabricated homemade, this just became mass production AND popular, There's been Mostly Harmless Arms that have done the ESLT and a few more, homemade rainbows have been printed by some, but they're just as powerful like fabricated homemade I printed and fabricated homemades are the same class IMO, and usually aim for higher FPS to get past the restrictions of working with nerf shells
"with a breech" is a little specific. The FDL2 is in the same class. 3D printed, homemade, high performance, etc. There are more uncommon ones in the same class as well, but these are the most popular two. Its nice platform to be sure, but lets not turn kings into gods.
