I got tired of using cans of compressed gas to clean PC hardware so bought a mains powered electric air duster to use instead. In this video we take a look at it and see how it performs cleaning my very dusty desktop!

I only have one thing to say about this product: it is fu**ing perfect! Ordered it and received it today. It cleaned my PC in less than 60 seconds. I mean ALL the dust is gone, everywhere! I am so happy with this because it used to take me 30 min cleaning the inside of my pc with a piece of cloth and a little brush from an electric shaver, and still it would be dusty everywhere. My PC is so quite now! It looks and feel like I just bought it. So happy!

I can vouch for these. I have had a Compu Cleaner for about three years now. Haven't had to buy canned air since. This is more powerful, doesn't get cold in my hands, and I can use it on more than computers.
@MenkoDany
@MenkoDany 2 года назад
Every IT department I've knoown has had the compressed air cans for one reason - it's failsafe, and cheap to buy in bulk. What if the power doesn't work where you need to go, what if you forget to charge your portable air duster, what if the battery fails? etc. However I agree that it's kind of a waste to use them, plus they used to be made from chemicals unsafe for the environment
@GameplayandTalk
@GameplayandTalk 2 года назад
@@MenkoDany I mean, sure.. That makes sense in that specific scenario. My home is not an IT department, thankfully (and I use the cleaner for much more than just my electronics). This cleaner is also not battery powered, and if one was going to worry about the power being out in a server room, you've got more problems to worry about than some dust in your racks.

Save your money and get an Electric Air Pump with a hose, and fit the narrow nozzle on the end. £15 at Argos. I did hover over buying one of these but £50 is a bit too much for a glorified air blower. The electric air pump is just as powerful with the nozzle and whilst it may lack a filter, you could put a mesh over the input end to prevent dust from being sucked back through. Anyway just a tip if someone's looking for one but doesn't want to spend £50 on it. 👍🏼

I own an IT support company and was spending far too much money on air dusters ( the falcon ones you show are a reasonable deal in Costco ) I've bought the compu cleaner and use it in conjunction with a vacuum cleaner. Leaving the lid on the pc you blow air through the front ( or back ) and position the vac at the other end - less dust over everything else there's probably someone who'll no doubt enlighten me as to the error of my ways, but it works, and works well so i shall continue to use it this way :)

Why would you want to get high on a chemical duster? When you inhale it, the gas replaces the oxygen in your blood, which is what causes the "high" feeling. This can cause fainting, strokes, seizures, heart attacks, and death. Not to mention that some of them are flammable, so, if you inhaled one near a heat source, it would be instant death. A momentary high isn't worth your life.

You could put Filters on your intake Fans as well to avoid this hassle for much longer periods. Just make sure you have more intake pressure than exhaust pressure to force air past the Filters...
@camerongray1515
@camerongray1515 7 лет назад
They do have filters (included with the Corsair 650D case). They certainly help but the finer dust still finds it's way in.
@65Jamaican
@65Jamaican 7 лет назад
You need to make sure you have established Positive Air Pressure in your PC. That means more Intake Pressure than Exhaust Pressure so that Air is forced out of seams and gaps in the Case. Then you can get a pair of Nylon Stockings and use the material to cover the intake Filters for finer filtering. Macs use HEPA Filters in their Cases. I've never seen them for PC's...CHEERS

And suffer temperature gain and performance loss to just get dust out and risk creating static pressure which damages your internal cpu components in time? no thank you....Id rather have the hot air being exhausted out of my pc than intake a lot of air with more intake fans than exhaust and risk my desktop becoming a grill....

Positive pressure means every hole without a fan is exhausting, every pc case has enough holes for the pressure to escape so no harm will happen.

The compressed air can make the fans spins faster than they were designed to and may cause damage. Also, they can create electricity. A motor and a generator are basically the same. Better safe than sorry, because there is no net positive benefits allowing the fans to spin from compressed air.

Just a question, some reviews on Amazon say that the machine gets hot super quickly and starts stinking like plastic, do you have that problem too? Also is it still working nicely after those 2 years? I'm thinking of getting an air compressor to clean my PC with, my regular vacuum cleaner can only do so much and even though my PCs dust filters work really well, there is still very fine dust inside the care. Would be cool if you could make an update video or just type your experience after 2 years in the description. I'm just really impressed of the air pressure it has. When I looked on Amazon, it came out with 2 more models, an improved white one and another black one.
@camerongray1515

It gets slightly warm and does smell a tiny bit but that's to be expected with something with a 500w motor, you aren't going to get a motor that powerful that doesn't produce some amount of heat. That said, it's not something that causes any sort of problem. I don't use it all that often but it still does the job fine, there's not really much to report for such a simple device.
