Completely agree with your review and what the old lady did to Dawn. I love cats and animals in general and can't see how this is a good message. Thanks for the video.
As an experienced cat man... if you can take care of one cat, you can take care of two cats. Three cats is where it starts getting sketchy. Might have been able to forgive the bad writing, the saving issue makes this a nonstarter.
Very late, I know, ended up sleeping the day away. And yeah, seem like they tried to be a Copycat of Stray, but I agree, taking the cat back to the shelter would be better. So yeah, due to that questionable storytelling, I'll probably would stick with Stray. As for the question, ANY cat, huh? OK, then I'll say Lucy from My New Family. Hey, she has cat ears and a tail, I'll say that counts, specially if you are leaving it open with "any". 😉😂🤣
A game like this that is entirely focused on the narrative can't afford to have issues like the ones you mentioned. I played the whole thing in one sitting and it felt just cruel in many aspects, and the ending doesn't save it.
Agreed. In fact, I would argue that the ending only compounds the overall problem. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. And that's before even getting into the questionable choice the daughter (Mae) considers making. Some real story-telling issues here.
Yeah, i can see why the action of the lady is off-putting. Especially living in a nice area myself where people seem to keep doing this. QOTD, I'm gonna say Myau (and his race) from phantasy star.
Thanks for the minor spoiler, for that reason alone I won't be playing this game. I agree, a terrible message... Reminds me of that scene from Homeward Bound where Shadow was abandoned on the side of the road in a box as a puppy. 😡 My favorite video game cat is... Jibanyan from Yo-Kai Watch.
First time I see a plot choice pull a games grade down this bad.... but I get it. I certainly do. Favorite cat - I don't actually recall that many cats in games, but I do know one- the cat from Twilight Princess that helps you out when you're in wolf-form. A fat old lady cat who's all class and sass.
When the game is built around the narrative, a stumble like that can really tank the grade. It's like watching a movie that has a really terrible plot twist. The rest of the movie might be good, but the only thing you'll remember is how bad that plot twist was.
