I have solved the Cyclone ring carrying problem: put it on your head like a glorious crown of darts! These blasters all look so neat, and it seems like you and your team have had a blast with them. Personally my favourite is the Pro version because it’s really simple but seems effective. Thanks for the great review Luke and Happy New Year! 🧡💜 P.S. That dinosaur you were battling was amazing 🤩
BTW there's a knockoff D-Dart Tempest available on Amazon and other sites. It features a T-rex head and mouth on the top so you are spitting darts out its mouth.
I like the Blizzard, it would be great if they sold the individual mags separately then the one handed reload could be much better as you could just have two dump pouches, one for the reloads and the other for the spent mags.
I honestly will buy the Cyclone, as I can just use my dump pouch and fit two extra drums. With us down here in the SWNC having an event at the end of January, I'll see how viable they are in an HvZ environment where I'll run mine!
Imagine going full derp mode and attaching twenty 18 dart magazines to the Blizzard. It would be heavy as hell and look absolutely insane, but 360 darts on one hand makes for an instant juggernaut and also creates a shield at the same time. You won't be able to see what you're firing at very well but the rule of cool always prevails!
If you could get a slap bracelet style ring for the cyclone that would make reloads and storage a lot easier, and increase it's 90s vibes by at least 1000%
I personally really like drum-fed blasters and there are precious few good fly wheel drum blasters. I'm gonna wait for your mod guide but I'd actually consider getting one of these
Hey out of darts! Figured I'd say it here. I got two 175 FPS nexus caps, and I love them. First thing purchased, and it makes me want to purchase more of the high quality things you got. Thanks! Happy new year!
Great vid Luke (like always)! Happy new year! I just had a thought for D-Dart, instead of on/off switches, or strange back-of-hand rev triggers, why not just a 2-stage trigger pull? A slightly longer trigger pull would help, half way to rev, all the way to fire, like all 2-stage triggers!
Loving the wacky wild goodness of these !! - makes me feel like its the late 70s again which was a golden age of gun toys ( from the range of different suction dart guns to alot of really cool BB gun and cap guns ) - ive thought about getting the original but i religiously oppose battery powered guns - but man loving the twin tornado and the hot swap !! But yeah … gotta have that lithium to get me on board -i hate wasting money on batteries at the store :( Oh but i want one arrrrgh!!
These are awesome! Thanks for the review. Is there any way to replace the cage above the grip with a 3D cage that also happens to have a rail receiver mount to use the D-Dart Pro as a foregrip?
Hey wsp Luke I use to live on one of your old neighborhood when you use to have the nerfwars with us I always check up on you every once in a while congrats on 100k
Seeing the original in Toys R Us a couple of years ago was what originally got me to start looking into the hobby again as a whole. They seemed so unique. Instead of dart guns, they struck me more like dart firing gauntlets, and the light weight simplicity really appealed to me. I also found them under a couple of other named through Best Buy and Amazon, which I assumed was a rebranding deal. I do wish they had some sort of orange ring at the front to remind people that its a muzzle, and like everyone else the rev trigger placement is kind of strange. Nothing a little momentary switch and some wiring can't fix however, and same goes for the dart range. It seems like the lighter ones would be really fun to dual wield, or just make use of their unique form factor just needing to reach your hand out of cover in a way that due to their weight balance, even the smaller traditional style blasters would not offer.
I think the D-Darts would be better if they were a single blaster with a variety of swappable cylinders. That way, once your Blizzard is out of darts, you can drop the huge magazine carousel in favour of a standard cylinder, rather than being stuck with a blaster you can't realistically reload during a game Standard rev triggers are definitely the next step for this line, if they can find space to fit one in. I'd love to see a Mega D-Dart and possibly a chain-fed one?
The engineering and additional features required to get a good consistent feed on all those different cylinders isn't worth the cost to almost all of their target audience. It sounds great but it seems like something very few of the kids they are really selling these to will ever use it.
D dart blizzard but the magazines modified to be mag adapters so tachi mags could be put in and a crazy spinning wheel of tachi mags spewing darts as well as acting like a shield.
Every review I’ve seen has ranked the blizzard last, but I don’t care, I’m buying one first chance I get anyways. I think it has a lot of potential and I’m a sucker for weird unique innovative blasters.
Does the D-Dart Tempest cage OOD sells fit all these new offerings? Except maybe the Tornado with it's extra tall flywheels. Looking to get the Cyclone and possibly the Pro and curious about upgrade options. I do have the Tempest though. Also did he ever do a mod guide for any of these or the Tempest? I'm not seeing anything on his channel.
It would be nice if the pro's switch was a raised on/off clicky button or rocker switch that you could reach with your trigger finger or thumb while holding it in firing position. You would get most of the advantages of a rev trigger and all of the advantages of an on/off switch.
I’m curious can the blizzards mags fit into anything els? ( like a retaliator for example) They kinda look like they could but it would definitely suck if they couldn’t
Unfortunately, everything about them is incompatible. I would love to see a mod to take n-strike or talon-compatible mags, but it would take some serious modification to do.
@@outofdarts well that sucks thanks for letting me know thou that was the only thing keeping me from making a solid decision on weather or not I was going to pick one of these up
out of darts do you have any flywheel cages for the stock stryfe motors and flywheels cuz I got a modulus stryfe and I don’t like the rubber dart guide
I feel like the blizzard could make for a great like heavy weapon roll. If you bought a bunch of them for the magazines, then you could just walk around with a two of these things. Then just find somewhere to hide and reload by swapping mags. This will require a lot of mini mags (that's what I'm going to call them) but it's better than hand reload them. I can also see someone try to make this work with full size mags, to that person good luck you mad scientist
I'd imagine a way of making it use short darts would either be to make a micro-flywheel second stage behind the main flywheels or to have an extended pusher. Both would require some form of cutting or custom printing the drum, first idea requiring more or less it having the front half taken off and the second requiring some form of a channel cut along the back
I so want to mod the big one to take nerf mags and run 10 round curved or even full 18 round mags in it. Lol, 2 hours to load, but sooooo many rounds to fire, lol. 342 rounds with 18 round mags and a still respectable 190 rounds with 10 round mags.
Perry being very harsh on the blizzard... even though this thing is VERY different, to have a full auto pistol with this amount of storage... it's actually a genius design. Surely it's compatible with 6 or 10 round mags also? Can you imagine rocking up at a HvZ dual wielding these? 180 darts in your dominant hand and 108 in your weak hand. Yeah, it gets heavy... but all these nerds could do with the exercise... I'm-a pester Coop to include it in his Jared's Epic Foam Battle.
I don't recall being harsh on the Blizzard in the video… Unfortunately, the mags are proprietary, and standard n-strike mags wouldn't work without a lot of modwork. - Perry
@@outofdarts gutted about the mag compatibility - that would've been sweet. I just remember the influencers missing the fact that zuru went to the effort to make the meteor very simple to alter for rival mag compatibility, so wondered if it might've been overlooked. The blizzard is obviously the most ambitious project. If someone is planning to make the adjustment to bring this in as a side arm, then it's well worth going all in.
What if you swapped the bulseyes blasters amo ring for a belt chain you could then atleast DOUBLE the capacasty Something i've been thinking about for a bit with Bullseye's blasters for a while now
I really like my original Tempest. I am really interested in the Cyclone and Blizzard. With the Blizzard I am hoping someone can figure out how to make it take 20 Talons. That would be amazingly absurd. But I have seen most of the pre release reviews talk about it’s weight and the rotation mechanism already being strained… But my imagination still sees one with 20 Tachi Mags for a 580 dart on board capacity…. It would take a While to need to reload with that. LOL
Originally found this blaster on the myth busters guy video. My son loves nerf but being a medically limited income household our main concern for our son is to learn the basic survival of using your resources wisely and not wasting them, but we still want him to be able to be a kid and where summers coming we want to get him a few toys that not only he will enjoy but also work as they should. he is 11yrs old so the spring assist dart guns he has been on the lame side now. my question is would this be a decent one time buy to play with friends or is there better for under $40 so we can still afford extra darts
I wonder if you could make and add on to the front to attach a scar to it , i know only point would be on the modded motor and wheel ones but that also might keep finger pain option away. 2nd idea make a side rev, that could be swapped to either side for those leftys...lol, so basically the tip of your middle finger would be pushing rev trigger, by being on the side of grip there would be no need to worry about room for switch and higher power batterys or small lipos would work. and yes a 22r worker mags on a modded blizzard for science lol.
What if you made blizzard drums where they have a hinge in one spot and a clip so you can flick em open and they drop off, then you could have 3 or 4 drums on your arm and just drop drums off and slide the ones on your arm into place without having to take the gun off, super fast reload and your arm would guide the drums into place
There was supposed to be one released around the same time as all of these variants. But we suspect that the 4 AAAs didn't have enough current to make a Tempest-style rival blaster feasible.
Dude? How much reloading do you need to do? If you brought solely just those four blasters with your extras in a little cinch bag cause lets be honest, these are easily stored, you would outlast EVERYONE I don't care what kind of vest and mags or how many they're carrying! Even someone with 5 18 round mags which comes out to 90, and a baggy of darts isnt coming close to 211 darts! One on each arm then say single arm on blizzard for reload ability and the pro just for final precision. Doing the math, pro 27, twin 54, blizzard 54 2 rings, and 76 on the big boy, forgot the name, comes out to 211 darts! And forget that, ditch em and move to a primary blaster and secondary and shotty and emergency. You will own any nerf war sorry. I'm sold. Start with those and burn through them take out who you can then move to a mag load auto primary with mags stored all over you on a vest and your secondary and your own little baggy of darts. Yeah already said it you'd own every nerf war just destroying people while they're reloading. Now, everyone will hate you at the end of the round and you have to reload all that craziness for the next round lol but who cares cause you won lol.
I always wonder why airsofters go a foam flinging video, complain, and say "just buy an airsoft". Buddy, we nerfers don't care, they're different hobbies, stop acting superior just because u bought a replica from Walmart.
