Disaster band: “hey holy wow studios, mind if we copy your home work” Holy Wow Studios, devs of hit meme rhythm game trombone champ: “sure just just change around a few words just to make it look like you did the work yourself” Disaster Band:
The fact that somebody added the Imperial March from Star Wars as user-created content suggests that maybe they don't have a lot of mods monitoring the hidden away DLC. Maybe John Williams put that piece into the public domain (so that school orchestras could play it) or something like that, but I don't know.
@@DefunctGames typically user-created content aren’t really moderated not unless big brother lawyer gets involved, which isn’t all too often. Granted I’m not savvy with legal speak, only that “fair use” gets thrown around
I've definitely reviewed a few other music games where you could download user-created content, and they were extremely strict on what you could and couldn't use. They were taking no chances. That's with both big and extremely small rhythm games, across the board. That's why I was so surprised to see a Star Wars song as one of the seven or eight songs in the DLC library.
I have no idea how they get away with having Star Wars music in the "user created"-section unless John Williams himself was feeling particularly generous one day... so I guess we'll see how long this game lasts. Also I did once upon a time play synth, but it's been so long I don't think I remember any of it.
