I agree !! I was excited by the new album, I listened to it and I thought it's a classic firewind sound, very enjoyable! ...but nothing that made me say "oh.. that's cool.. that's new!" I stopped following firewind since Apolo left the band but I had to give myself a chance to listen to the new vocalist(s).

Listened to a few excerpts but generally find with power metal that the entire album needs to be heard to see what grabs my listening attention or makes me think a particular song needs to be replayed. So on the listening list it goes. Thanks as always, Pete. Always appreciate your reviews for new product episodes.

This sounds nothing like the last two albums!! Super melodic and catchy, the singer stepped it up on this album. Definitely my favorite Firewind album since Apollo left the band

Thanks Pete. Great review and I don't know is it only my ears but singer sounds a lot like Jorn Lande to me. This is by the way the first album from Firewind I bought and it made me a fan of this band

I'm a long time Accept fan, so your comparison of Firewind to Accept interests me. Having said that, I think that Accept are now at a stage where they are just recycling riffs and song structures that are already on their previous albums.

Yep Firewind in with their lps do deliver the power and heavy metal and it sounds like it. Gus G classic underrated guitarist.

Herbie of course sang with Avantasia and other projects. He is a fine singer. If I am honest they lost something when Bob left,the keyboards had really stood out. Good album though
