Here is a quick vlog type video! I wanted to take you guys along with me to a coffee shop in Glencoe called Hometown Coffee and Juice. It is located on Chicago's North Shore, making it just a quick drive out of the city. It reminds me of the Balkans because of the small town vibes. People coming to grab coffee and chat, small businesses around selling unique items, and everyone seems to recognize each other and can you believe it- pozdravljaju se!!?? 😮
Let’s talk about ☕️ & 🍽

Hometown serves La Colombe Coffee (they are a U.S coffee roaster company based in Philly. They are also one of first companies to start the “direct trade” trend for coffee beans). I was not disappointed. I had a plain latte with whole milk. No sugar, no syrups, nothing. Let me tell you. The taste reminded me of a “produžena sa miljekom” from the kafići in the Balkans. Just have to be honest - the size of this latte is like TRIPLE the size you’d get anywhere in Europe 😂

We decided to go with a their “Berry Bowl”. It’s a smoothie in a bowl basically topped with some fruit and granola and glazed with honey. A delicious option for someone who has a sweet craving but wants to eat healthy 😋
On the savory side we got the “Greek Hometown toast”. It is a piece of multigrain bread, smeared with avocado, and topped with cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, red onions and drizzled with Greek dressing. I added an egg on top for some protein. It was tasty and a great option if you’re kinda hungry, kinda not but want to munch on something 🍳
Overall, everything was fresh, service was excellent and the cafe itself is SO CUTE!! Thanks for having us!
