I may not be the target audience, but I'm glad approachable lightheaded platformers like this are still around. And a favorite tropical game? Does Sonic 3 count? Final Fantasy X is another big one, and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse!
Looks like one of those games I would play if I'm in one of my odd moods of wanting to play a platformer, but relax while do so at the same time. 😉😂🤣 As for the question, just off the top of my head, mainly because it was just updated today, but going to answer We Are Lost. It's a F95 Zone game, but it has two different stories, and if you play the son, his story takes place on a tropical island, so yeah, I'll say that counts. 😉
Great review. I was a kickstarter backer for this because i enjoyed the previous games from Chibag like Summer in Mara and Deiland. I hadn't played that mail mole game you mentioned though. I thought Koa was simplistic but fun. Though i'm only a casual platformer fan. So i think i enjoyed Summer in Mara more than this.
My favorite tropical game? I want to second Mario Sunshine, but I also really like StarTropics and Treasure Adventure Game. Wind Waker, while certainly set on an ocean, does not seem to have much in the way of tropical elements.
This kinda reminds me of New Luckys Tale. Kinda bare bones and aimed at a younger audience but still can be kinda fun. I might check it out on a deep discount probably won't spend $20 on it, but I'd bet it's a good fit on the steam deck. QOTD: My favorite tropical game is Shantae and the Seven Sirens, or just Shantae in general. Really fun tropical settings, fun characters to play as and interact, and I always enjoy transforming into other things for platforming and puzzle solving.
Looks cute. I enjoyed "Summer in Mara" so I might try it as a chill game. Hmm... I recently finished "Dave the Diver" and that was a very fun game, I think it counts as tropical! It certainly had the feel of a relaxing tropical holiday :D
I like games like these. Always a good romp and they seem to always hit a sale at some point. If I ever do a game it will probably be something in this genre. QOTD, Favorite tropical game would be monster hunter as nearly all of the games in the series have a jungle in them with monsters adapted for it.
