Eastmans' Todd Helms reviews a hunting rifle by Weatherby. The Mark V Weathermark Bronze is the workhorse of the Weatherby's Mark V line of rifles. This rifle is light and durable. The Cerakote finish makes this rifle ready for the worst weather conditions. The #2 contoured barrel and Triggertech Trigger rifle improves accuracy. It's great to have options, rather than knocking new innovations. No one is forcing or trying to coerce anyone into anything with all the myriad cartridge and rifle offerings we see on social media and elsewhere. Grinds me when I see comments like, "we don't need another new cartridge", or "...I'll stick with my Remington 700 in .30 06..." , whenever a new cartridge or rifle is introduced. Those are choices we all can and do make. But it takes nothing away from the importance of continued improvements in product development, or bringing new ideas into the hunting and shooting market place.

I bought the Weatherby vanguard, in 270win, got my moose 26/09/2023, it was awesome accurate..... 1 MOA..the mark V is sub MOA..... I had the Lazor mark V in the 80s. 7mm mag ,it was AWESOME!

Weatherby Mk V Weathermark is $1500-1600. That's a damned costly workhorse. More like Thoroughbred country. Not too many ppl can afford that plus a decent scope. Your looking at 2000+

Most of the other Weatherby Mk Vs start around @ $2,500. That makes this particular model a best buy. Cheap? No, but a very good price for the Mark V's performance.

Scope - Leupold VX III 4.5-14X40 CDS Bases - At the time all I had to mount it with were the Leupold QD Medium 30mm Rings... since then I've switched those out for Leupold PRW2 Rings with Leupold Cross Slot bases for the MK 5

Hey Nolan, the plate was 300 yards. The 6.5 RPM is a great round.

Looked like 100 yards when the camera panned out. Usually cameras make things look significantly farther and that looked close.

I did some looking and all of them I saw were $1,399.99, with the the LT version being $1,699.99. Looked like it came in all/most of the Weatherby mags as well as a handful of popular others

problem with buying a new Mark V with a $2000 price tag is that it won't shoot one lick better than a Vanguard priced below $800.

Cva shoots circles around weatherby just bought a mark v and my cva was broke in in 5 rounds im 14 in to this one in .257 and its not great especially considering the cost

Cva shoots circles around the weatherby mark v hunter in .257 I have been testing it against a cva cascade and the cascade flat out shoots better and was literally half the money

Nothing wrong with the old Mark five. A good old American. Rifle. I have one. Made in America It has history. In its genes. Why complicate things. Only a sales pitch. Happy new year

Nope, nothing ‘wrong’ with the older Mark V’s at all. I have one, a Mark V Deluxe in .300 Wby. Gorgeous, and sub.- MOA all day. Made in Japan. The new Mark V’s are made in Wyoming. He reviewed a new version that will appeal to many shooters and hunters especially. Improvements include new, better and adjustable trigger, more ergonomic synthetic stock, Ceracoat weatherproof finish on metalwork, threaded barrel. Not ‘just marketing’, those are all solid improvements in a version suited for hunting in inclement weather conditions. Still ‘all Weatherby’. I plan on getting one in .257 Wby. very soon!
