Thank you for sharing your expirience with this light. I used it now since 3 Months and didnt find the right settings for my LPS/Softcorals. So i tried your profile and now the corals benefit from the settings.
The very best review on maxspect! Salute! Which one do you think is best for my tank: - Maxspect RSX 200w or - 2pcs Maxspect Jump LED MJ-L165 Tank dimesions: 40 x 16 x 18 inches (LxWxH) 180 liters tank. I have mostly LPS and Zoanthids. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Awesome review! Few questions. How did you derive the lighting schedule and the spectrum, what was it based off of? Also can you attach the QR code of your schedule along with the overview so that we can replicate it by scanning with the app? Thanks a lot!
Hi Philip, of course! I have updated the link in the description, which is: i.imgur.com/zaRaP6D.jpg I have made this schedule from personal experiences over the past years, so it's not something "proven"
great review thans, love this light, thinking of getting it for my tank, i have a 27 inch cube , do you think i can get away with 1 of these or will i need 2 ?
@@DutchReefer Does it say that on the box or in the direction? I will send you the money and you can ship it to me in America! LOL JK This light is perfect. i was going to get a razor because it has all these colors but hate that it is in legs! But might have to or a fortune on the radions because I like the spectrum, very similar to radio!
Fantastische review!
Surely what is important is the depth and spread rather than "liters". Are there default modes for lighting schedule as let's face it, many people want a simple plug and play rather than having to set up each colour. Alternative would be the ability to load profiles. Overall looks an interesting light but personally, I hate the massive logo.
Yeah true but that was too much to cover in this video. There are some default modes you can use as well, and you can import schedules that other people make by using a QR code. So overall very easy to customize even if you're not into doing it yourself. Agreed on the huge logo, although most of the time you don't notice it as it's on top of the light.
If your corals are growing(and you can tell they are)then the light is a good one.Shame about the placement of the tightening nut but as you've said it's minor.Thank you for the review,Stay safe.
Hi there I know this is a old thread but I currently run a ai prime 16 hd on a 20 gallon tank but find its shading my sps up top because how there are more clusters in this light do u think I would get less shading beautiful tank BTW 😊
Thanks Jörg! That's right, I didn't cover that function since I'm not using it. I'm still of the opinion that your fish and coral require non-light periods during a day, which are at night. Of course you can use the moon phase function but I don't really see the need for it. Cheers!
@@DutchReefer There are animals for which the moonlight is important to orientate themselves at night. Therefore the moonlight function is already important. Too bad that you did not consider this.
@@JoergHH62 Yeah well I'm sure other reviewers have considered it though :-) and there's always *some* amount of light in our house even at night, so I won't use it. Have a good weekend!
Yeah it wouldn't have any problems I grow sps with a ai prime 16hd in a 18 by 18 tank. This light is much brighter than the ai primes and will give off way less shading
i have been looking for a light for a month and as soon as I saw your tank and all of the colors in the spectrum I said I have found my lights! BUT then when you showed just blues it wasnt very blue. I have not seen a light beside the maxspect razor (which I was about to buy, because it has the same spectrum and I found it for 100.oo off) It is the type that sits on legs though and I dont really like that type! I like mounts much better. I am also looking at noopsyche and zetlight ufo, which has even more spectrum because it has amber! But I dont really care for the way they have the spectrums mixed on the channels, then they have a newer model that has all separate channels and less colors but dosnt say it uses cree lens like the other ufo model I wonder why the blu didnt look very dark at all. I like the de[ blue look and since it has the marine bile as well as the lighter two It should be way bluer than it looked. I dont know why they eave so many red and green leds? Just as many as some of the blues. You tank certainly looks nice when you pumped up all the channels though! I am like you and like a whiter tank during the day and yours looks great with a lot of pop!
Products itself are Ok. But they better not be broken. As Maxspect has one of poorest service of all time. Everyone from dealer, to distributors, to company itself just plain irresponsible. I've learn to avoid choice to avoid Maxspect...
