After watching many of the other how to videos on RU-vid for cleaning white wall tires, this video has proved to show the best strategy and product, not that using steel wool, magic erasers, or other tools are invalid, but from the little effort you used to get such a amazing result, I believe that Meguires hot rims wheel and tire cleaner is the best, and I fully intend on using the same product. Thank you so much for sharing, keep that park ave lookin fresh!
LOL the music is great. The Maguire's Hot Rim wheel and tire cleaner is completely fantastic. This is probably the best overall product of it's kind that I ever used. Take a extremely dirty rim and tire and spray this stuff on. Let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute and then get to work cleaning. Pretty amazing how it gets deep dirt and grime off.
@@Fentertainment I see why. I went and bought it right after watching your video and already tried it. Works great. Thank you for helping me pick the right product!!
I don’t know if I’ll use this stuff again. It’s way to strong, I got a little on my billet aluminum wheel spacers and it etched spots in them. Think it also ruined the paint on my drum brakes. It really does melt filth off tires though that’s forsure.
thanks for the video. have been looking for a westleys replacement for years. going to give that a try. looks like it works good. that black majic is pure crap!!!
Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II has the best whitewall/price ratio for tires haha, those Hankooks just burn up too fast on our landyachts and don't get warranty at the shop. Was looking if Meguiars does a better job than simple green, looks like I'll be heading to O'Reilly's thanks.
Hey buddy, I know you're all about saving a few $ so i'm gonna help you out. Wheel and tire cleaner is nothing more than an All Purpose Cleaner diluted into a bottle. Save yourself some money and pickup a gallon jug of Simple Green and dilute it accordingly. I do auto detailing for a living, and I use Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner because it's cheaper but has to be sold online. But it's the same thing as Simple Green. Alternatively you can get some Forumula 409 and clean the tire the same way.
Can I clean my scooter (Activa) Rear Shock Absorber..as I mistakenly applied lubrication oil over it..it got very dust and very stubborn..tried with petrol but it did not cleaned much..can I use this?
It would depend upon how stiff you make the mix. It's a concentrate, foaming cleaner. They suggest 4:1. On undressed tires it worked well. It didn't wash off Meguiar's Endurance Dressing. I also use it for the wheel wells, carpeting, tile & grout, concrete, etc. Around $20/gallon, which will make 20 x 32oz bottles of cleaner. That's a buck per bottle, for some pretty handy cleaner. Keep up the great vids!
Oh Wow I'm definitely going to check that out. I'm all about saving a dollar. Do you have a foam cannon for washing the vehicle? So basically this is a multipurpose cleaner?
Fentertainment Yes, it's all purpose, similar to simple green. Maybe not as powerful. They have a degreaser as well. These come in gallon jugs, and are marketed under the detailer line of products. Foam cannon, no. Well, not yet. I use a foam gun, that attaches to the garden hose. It works ok, but goes through soap FAST. So you need to be quick with it. It's not the foam that guys get with the foam cannon, but it didn't cost that price either. Search amazon for "foam sprayer". Mine is similar to the gilmour. Prices vary. In all honesty, I can't says it has any effect, other than shooting foam at my car. You're going to need to wash as normal, anyway.
Great review,I used to use bleach White also and the product is not the same. but the Meguiars product is a much better product again thanks for the great review
I am now on my 2nd set of Vogue tires for my Deville, so I'm always looking for better cleaners for those damn white walls. Bleche White only seems to work with elbow grease, Shout Advanced didn't work at all, Goo Gone didn't do much either, so I will be trying this Meguiars later this week. The best method I found was any cleaning solution + an SOS pad, but I hear any scrubbing can damage the tires down the line.
Bryce Calvin I have an 06' CTS & 18' CT6 both with Vogue Tyres and I'm at a lose as to keeping the white walls clean. Idk where your from but I'm in the mid-west where the winters are brutal with all the stuff they use to treat the roads. So, I have to get them clean ASAP and nothing I've tried has worked. Please tell me this product worked for your Tyres?
It worked great on the white walls, but make sure you're around a water supply. I also messed up and tried to do two tires at once, so it left bad watermarks on my chrome. If you make sure you're around water and you only do one tire at a time, this product is great.
I've bought vehicles used with yellowed white letter tires. I would take some sand paper and a block and sand it till the yellow is off and the new white rubber beneath is showing. Not a grinder though, Although I have seen people on youtube do that to "make white wall tires".
1:00 More amazing to me is how you can pronounce the "h" in 'wheel' and 'white'. I have been trying for decades, but I can't nail it. wHeel wHite wHeel brush wHile wHite tire safe on all wHeels and tires
vir123456 johnson best ones I've seen(as a detailer) was like the Daytona speed brush I believe it was that'd bend and do EVERYTHING you'd need it to do but was stiff enough to actually work and not bend when you dont want it,there's others like that but that's the best style I've seen
I love the accent the most! My question is, I disregarded the reviews on Pep Boys site and bought the Travelstars anyway, those were good for about 2 weeks, then the brown came through...I use the old skool method (SOS pads) and that gets them white again, but the brown just keeps on coming back like a SOB...anyone know if this product will help with that?
The brown is the brake dust, I will say I'm still using this wheel and tire cleaner. If your tires are stained, I would suggest wet sanding the white walls with 600 grit to remove the stained portion of the white rubber. But someone else may chime in with a better suggestion. I'm just glad you can understand what I'm saying LOL! Thanks
Hey BKS CYCO, I looked, didn't really see Pumice Stone being used on tires...got a link? I'm assuming I buy a pumics stone and clean the white wall with it, like I do with the SOS pads? Question is, do they stay white after using the Pumice stone? I don't have an issue getting them sparkly white, it's just that they turn brown in just a few days.
SmooveP22 yeah thats the problem with travelstars , ive had 2 white as fuck for about 8 months now but i recently bought 2 new travelstars they were yellow when i got them and when had them shaved about a day and they went back to yellow , sos really didnt work for me but luckily i got to see an end result on that RU-vid video because dude had big white walls with that crusty stuff mine has
Nice video mate! I've subscribed. This wheel cleaner works really well, I'm all for it. I did my own review as well, working all around my wheels in areas that looked like they were never cleaned before and it still looked soooo clean once it had done its job.
Have you tried Super Clean Degreaser? You can get it at Walmart for less than 10 bucks in gal size, and you can dilute it 4 parts water 1 part product. It will save you money and give the same results. Thanks for the video. Love the background music!
Diesel fuel on a terry clothe towel or washcloth! , keep swabbing rocker panels (don’t scrub),repeat repeat repeat keep it wet. Tar will slowly disappear
No sirbe yo compre uno para los rines psz mmmm esta bien no esta mal pero para las llantas laverdad no lo recomiendo a este wey se leve que se limpia por que el wuey solo las lleno de polvo.
