I’m a Tea Head also and I LOVE mine. It’s very convenient and great to carry to work. The directions for usage are on the box. It’s easy to clean. I didn’t have any leaves slip through the stainer . I’m very pleased with this.😍
I work as a flight attendant so this the only way I can brew gong fu style when I am away from home for 3 or 4 days and restricted on what teaware I can take when flying lol. if I were home I would definitely go with the Gaiwan and other teaware 😁
I just purchased this brewer and I was already wondering if I could take out the filter. I was a bit worried I'd break something. So this video was very helpful! Thanks for your great review! Keep spreading the word and yes, we will stay away from the teabags! Greetings from another Tea Head!
thank you for the review. I have an eye for detail as yourself and having experienced issues with other similar tea brewing products you have pretty much answered all my concerns here. Also I can see the plastic seem to get stained from the brewing process. I wish the brewer was glass not plastic.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, an eye for detail is so important to me! I'm glad I answered your concerns. In terms of material, I'm not sure if plastic or glass get stained much differently, however because the mechanisms in this brewer are small and inaccessible they become hard to clean.
Thank you for review. I have been thinking of getting one of these and your review has helped alot. I have several questions. First question is how much water does the tea brewer hold is it 1 cup or it is less. Second question how do you clean the bottom filter, do you take it apart or just flush water through it? How do you get ridd of the tea stains? Third question is do you just press the button to release the tea or do you have to press and hold the lever down to release the tea. Fourth question what is your favorite teaware for tea brewing would if be the tea brewer connoisseur or a gai wan or a tea pot with a infuser?
Can the glass decanter be used as the kettle on the cooker to heat your water to poor into filter? What do you use now? I just need a good clear glass tea pot w/ infuser or cup strainer
Hey Ed, nice review. Quick question: Have you tried any similar brewers from other manufacturers? I wanted to buy the brewer but I think that it's quite small in size. What is the maximum amount of tea that you can prepare in one batch? I have noticed that you have quite a few criticisms, are you overall satisfied and do you use it regularly? I had my eyes on the Kamjove TP-200, I like the bigger size and I think the build quality is superior but it is hard to get them in Europe...
Hi Bojan! haven't tried any similar brewers in fact. Now that I have more traditional teaware I don't use the brewer. I think they will all have positives and negatives, and also you'll have your own tastes. It does the job, but I consider tea brewing to be much more exciting when done with traditional teaware. You'll have make your own judgement about quality, etc. Sorry I can't be of much help!
Hi Jerry, two great questions. Personally I break up a dishwasher tablet and use part of it with hot water to submerge/soak the chamber, filling the inner filter compartment with water. I would love to know some uses for the used leafs, but the only place they find themselves is in the compost! Maybe you could experiment with cold brewing after a brewing session?
