Fantastic review, and than you very much Diecast Den for being the first in depth review of first the Norev and now the Minichamps Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS. It seems to me that they both are superb models, with positives and negatives and anyone who has either would be pleased. It's just the price of the Norev is so much more affordable, so like you, I'd give that model the nod. Until I see your review of the AUTOart version that must surely be on the way...
I don't see how the lights are "nicely" done. I would've called it lazy! Norev at least used transparent material for the lens and painted the housing correctly with the little details. This is can do with a silver sharpie... Rear red lightbar should be transparent, not painted. Even Maisto or Bburago don't do this nowadays. No effort in the interior, the plastic mould is bad (look at the ventilation outlets, the middle ventilation outlet is completely inaccurate), the buttons not very crisp and there is a lack of coloring. Norev paints the plastic and that makes it look very high quality, this seems like unpainted plastic. This car for me is typical Minichamps. In some areas really nice, almost the level of AutoArt but then in others such a massive disappointment. For me the Norev Version is the clear winner. Hello to all collectors, I want to see a side by side comparison of these two models (Minichamps vs Norev) to see if my points is correct, first of all the interior of Norev is way better than Minichamps, the stand of Minichamps is better than norev (lower and better wheels ) from what I see the rear spoiler at minichamps is movable one the other hand the norev is solid, I have the minichamps and I want to buy the norev but I still think of buy it mostly of the stance and the wheels ( the tyres seems to thic) I will wait for the side by side comparison. If we let the price out of comparison what is the best of two Den??? Cause you have both and the price for the yellow is near the same as the minichamps in Europe thanks 🙏🏼
The car was great until the interior that was a super bummer for me it killed all the hype, the exterior is great though but I’ll probably buy a Norev version or wait for the eventual AutoArt version
Thanks for the review. I think you were a bit tough on them regarding the interior detail at that magnification, except for the shifter, but the headlights and taillights do look a bit cheesy.
I was looking forward to this model as well as your review, I was hoping this 911 would be a return to glory for PMA. It doesn't seem to be the case. The interior looks like an afterthought. I wouldn't mind moulded-in vents, but that sea of unpainted plastic. mould lines on the steering wheel and the gear lever cover look like an insult to the buyer who dishes out 200+ USD for that. Oh well. I'm surprised Norev's price surged so much, it's a nice model but not worth 200+ USD!
