Hey man, just found your content. I don't even use Nerf stuff and am an old man, but the quality of your reviews is so good I've been watching them. Keep it up, this is great stuff 👍
I actually really like the cosmetic design of the Eaglepoint, despite it being Elite 2.0. It looks like they took the best parts of Elite and Rebelle and put them into one.
@@bronze1324 I mean, that was never the point I was trying to make with my comment, but okay. It was purely the fact that it's part of the Elite 2.0 line, which has a bit of a shady reputation due to the aforementioned issues, but I never implied that the Eaglepoint has said issues.
I do like how Coop as of late has been fair to those who do want to get it just for fun, as opposed to just appealing to the performance-oriented crowd.
@@Coop772 I like how your reviews are informative, systematic/organized and to the point, instad of vaguely rambling for 20 minutes without a clear opinion.
@@dimitrisk8441 People who engage in competitive play and are usually looking for higher fps and accuracy in a blaster. Competitive players might lean more towards something like the dart zone pro line or custom 3D printed blasters.
as someone who buys their blasters after the looks and feel and not performance (I don't even go to any wars but just shoot at friends when they come over) I love this thing.
Everytime Coop says “There is a n-strike barrel lug” it’s like he just turned into a kid on Christmas. Also I love how this the first video on my recommended as soon as I wake up
the eaglepoint isnt glued shut but just clipped together, and the barrel lug on it is a separate part which is useful, the spring in it is kinda weak, and the priming mechanism on it is quite different from other bolt action blasters with slamfire like on the tri strike
30 seconds of holding the blaster and I knew that Coop would refer to the Doomlands series. And I bought it purely for the look, just like the Desolator.
It is always a fun day when coop uploads.I was actually thinking of purchasing this but was hoping coop had a video on this, now there is so I can make my decision.
I just had to fix one of these, the problem was the failure-to-prime but it is not caused by a short-stroke or failure of the plunger to catch at the back of the prime, it is a failure of bolt-handle system to CATCH the back of the plunger to begin with! If you take the blaster apart (black handle piece is clipped, the rest comes apart easily via screws, there was no glue) you will find that the internals are largely contained in a plastic cage that keeps the plunger aligned. The plunger is pulled back on either side by a tiny nub of plastic that catches on a corresponding tiny nub on either side of the priming 'sled', but the plunger piece responsible for this is actually separate from the plunger rod itself, it pivots and there was no spring system used to keep it positioned to catch and be pulled back. I added a piece to the plunger rod to keep this catch in place and now the blaster primes reliably every time. A 2nd note, the placement of the foregrip area is idiotic. On the Alphahawk (which I consider the predecessor to this blaster), the extended barrel shroud provides foregrip area ahead of the rotating turret. On this blaster, the foregrip is inline with the front of the darts and the turret, so unless your hand is very small then it will encounter the darts and turret and hamper rotation. The only way to use the blaster effectively is to keep your hand off the foregrip 🙃 On a 3rd note, the 'scope' has distortion lenses in the rear and especially in the front with silly cross-hairs, it is impossible to see through which means my kids hate it and will only use the blaster with it not in place. Besides those gripes, it looks cool and I (and they) really appreciate how thin it is compared to a lot of older Nerf blasters.
Love your reviews man! I eventually got this blaster and did notice the priming issue. However, if you're willing to open it up (and trust me, those tabs are crazy hard to crack open) you can take the priming piece and increase the gap a bit with a small dremel and it will prime like a charm 😁
After quarantining for a bit, i went to a nearby target and saw the eagle fire. As a big fan of the Alphahawk, I was extremely tempted in getting this blaster. After watching this video I definitely want to get this blaster even more now. I didn’t know that slam fire was a feature on this blaster. I would absolutely love to use this in a nerf war as a replacement for my alphahawk. While the alpha hawk has that pop out cylinder and sniper aesthetic, the rate of fire is what bugs me. While I’m not much of a fan of the looks of the Eaglefire I would prefer the performance over the appearance any day. Thanks for the review
I've been the last weeks watching your channel and i've got back nerfing as a hobby after more than 15 years, thanks to you I think I chose the best gear for my taste. I am from Spain and not everthing is avaliable as I would like, but I got most of my favourites, I want to thank you for your reviews and share my list of purchases: Rampage, Alpha trooper, Triad, Slingfire, Hammershot, Kronos, Twinshock, Magnus, Vigilon, Proton. *Pd I already had the first Double barrel break and the first Firestrike. *Pd yet to come the Hades and some flywheels.
Thanks Coop, during the pandemic I gifted all my attachments and modded retaliator to my nephews. I am getting the itch again and picked this up for plinking. Thanks for the review!
I saw this thing in the store yesterday. I was looking for 2 years now for a decent nerf sniper that actually deserves this name. Even though I already had the nerf echo, I bought this beauty of a blaster immediatly.
@@candypower9988 sadly anything that has more than 7.5 joule is considered an air rifle and thus a weapon in my country. The max for toyguns is 3.4 joule, we arent even allowed to have nerf rivals
@@candypower9988 joule, not jolt, a nerf blaster is below 3.5, a rival one above. To legally have rivals, hasbro would need to market it as an air rifle
I literally searched this up on ur channel before and it didn't come up and now u have done a review. Your channel is amazing and had saved me lots of money 💰 keep up the great work p.s. love ur hair
Hi Coop! Haven’t seen your content in probably more than a decade. You’ve been one of my favs since I was in junior high. Kinda forgot how much time has flown by since you released your vids on the first line of n-strike elite blasters (retaliator, rampage, hail fire, etc). Glad to see your still around. Keep entertaining the next generation. Take care man!
I saw this at my local super market and thought it looked pretty cool, so the first thing that came to my mind was: let’s watch Coop’s review to know if it’s good quality :)
I just purchased the Elite 2.0 Eaglepoint RD-8 today & its my 1st Nerf blaster, also i have another on the way tommoz Nerf Elite 2.0 Motoblitz & intended to buy a few more . Anyways as to the catch priming issuei had no problem with and pulled firmly each time. its a cool rifle and looks like a space age blaster. :)
Honestly if you ditch the attachments and saw off the stock this makes for an excellent sidearm. An 8 shot cylinder blaster practically the same size as the strong arm. This suggestion might be for more performance oriented players, but it’s still something to keep in mind
Personally i think a low capacity cylinder is good because it's faster to reload than a high capacity cylinder (assuming they're both empty, if a 40 dart cylinder is missing 8 darts then it's the same as reloading an empty 8 dart cylinder) And while it's quick to reload with a spare mag, it's not quick to reload an empty mag by itself Love the review coop!
On my first one, a catch inside the priming system would let go with a loud snap. Couldn't prime it majority of the time. The replacement worked great for a while, but now it starting to do the same thing. I love the look and feel, but maybe they cheaped out on the internals?
I just got this a couple days ago and went on YT to see if Coop had a reverie on this, he didn’t but just 2 days later, he made one. What a coincidence! It’s like he’s watching me.
Hear me out, there is a good reason why Slam Fire on sniper class blasters is a great feature. In case you are approached at close range by accident or you are discovered, you can increase your rate of fire to compensate for being in a CQB situation with an opponent with a higher rate of fire blaster for being at closer ranges.
I think it has a 0lace. The internals come out in one peace and i think using this thing as a small 8r pistol for your stock war, in a different shell and then using the shell for some cool project to get a good stock is fun.
This is the best and the coolest looking gun from Nerf Elite 2.0 series. It makes me feel like Commander Shepard from Mass Effect on an intergalactic quest.
You know when Nerf is in some dire straits when the most positive opinion Coop has had of a Nerf-branded blaster recently is "mildly satisfied." I think it looks really cool though as well.
It's safe to say that this is powerful enough to deter those pesky seagulls from nesting on my roof and attacking me every time I leave the house. Love the dedication and passion to the review man,
I was watching this review 2 seconds I got the blaster in real life. My emotional response to this… Coop’s said there was a priming issue, but I found it perfectly okay and doesn’t jam.
