Frank, I am a parent who knew next to nothing about Nerf guns, but my 5 year old loves them so I started looking around YT in an effort to research the various guns available that would best suit him. I never knew what a rabbit hole that would be, but I have actually become an enthusiastic Nerf fan because of your videos. I even subscribed to your channel! Thanks a bunch for what you are doing here. You help more than you know. Oh, and I can say with 100% certainty that I am flywheel master race!
I know your child is now 8 years old, however if they are still into the hobby I recommend the nerf modulus stryfe the blaster that is in the video, have a nice day.
@@gamer_baby_doom_player_maybe he's saying the Rayvenfire is a reskin of the original Rayven. He never said that the Rayvenfire was a reskin of the Stryfe.
@A potato 1:53 look at the PCB above the spring Twist that capacitor so both leads are touching and your good. If you want to do it properly remove the Pcb, strip both wires and connect them. Then proceeded to hot glue them down for extra reliability. This is one of the easiest mods you can do to a Nerf gun.
Blehmaster well not fully. It's painted but not as detailed as the other side. They have been doing this since the strife came out. But they did well with the rapid strike I think.
Well maybe with that "restriction" parents wont come back with the gun complaining it shoots super short because their kid sprays and don't let the motor rev up properly.
2:31 it’s weird that literally one side has beautiful details and stuff..... and the other side is just.... BLANK (i believe that Nerf blasters are especially Made for Left-handed people, just look at This Stryfe as example: if you hold it in your left hand you can see all those details and stuff i just talked about, and if you hold it in your right hand you actually don’t see those things. Or another example: Do you know Nerf blasters that have a Nerf Tacti-cool rail at the side for left hand wielders... and that on the other side that there is space for a tacti-cool rail but there is none. Blasters Like the Demolisher and the Recon MK 2 have these problems..... so Yeah 😐 kinda weird 🤔
You mixed it up. When you hold it in your right hand, the others can see the details but you can't and when you hold it in your left hand the opposite happens! So nerf blasters are for right handed ppl cause you want the others to see the glorious side of your blaster
Yet you have some blasters mag release on the right handed side or, for an example: The strongarm or alphahawk. The cylinder pops out on the left side, away from where we can see it, so we have to move our blaster to the right to reload. Sucks to suck.
guys it’s because it’s supposed to look good in the box so little kids ask there moms to buy it, it’s for marketing only and the right side is the side that faces you
Best way to ID the source of the thermal shutdown may be to check the markings on the thermistor. If Hasbro changed specs, it's the thermistor. Only other variable would be the motors, which may have received a slight bump in specs due to changes in the coil windings.
Thank god you mentioned this problem, I just had this happen with two orange stryfes that I just bought and I wasn't able to find anyone online who had the same issue. One thing I noticed was that it happened more with third party darts that had harder plastic tips, and less often with the softer tip included darts. It may just be coincidence though.
That's because of the hard tip not being squished as much as the foam, causing it to kinda jam in the flywheels. The nerf elite darts have softer tips, so it won't happen with those darts. It's not a coincidence.
Dear coop: A thermistor regulates the resistance inside a circuit via temperature. the higher the temperature gets inside the strife, the higher the resistance gets. in this circuit at least. such is the reason you can reload six dart magazines and fire immediately without a problem. by the time you have a new magazine loaded in, the thermistor has cooled down enough while bigger magazines don't quite offer the same time (on the long run)
I got a modulus stryfe and didn’t have a problem with the thermistor, even when finger banging with a 22 mag. I think Hasbro fixed it. Good job Hasbro! I also got a Modulus ECS 10 and the stock was fixed. Hasbro is listening after all!
Well, it was never even out of stock in Germany. Most people don't understand the Modulus doesn't perform better *because* of the longer barrel. So they had a ton of them left over...
I saw this on instagram and thought he repainted a stryfe and added the ionfire barrel and vertical grip, though I was confused about the lifted modulus logo...now I know that this is a review!
I found if you twist the thermister so the opposing wires touch it creates a path of least resistance so it doesnt go through the thermister and it prevents the fire shutdown. Hope this helps.
Victor Le You don't even need to remove it. Just twist it twice, so the contacts are touching but aren't broken off at voila. You can run two IMRs plus two dummies with that setup easily. For three I'd rewire with higher gauge wires and take out the thermistor altogether. For LiPo packs you'd need to rewire for sure and perhaps even change the switches.
@@supermechagodzilla5918 i watched a tutorial well 4 tutorials on how to do it they were all the same and i did it step by step it just died and my first stryfe dead within the 3 hours i owned it
All I've seen is that you do not remove it. You twist it so the 2 wires that the little square stands on are crossed. By removing it, you broke the circuit. If you can, use a soldering iron and link the what remains of the 2 wires together.
Coop, I own a blue elite stryfe, and it has the same issue, where I shot off an 18 round stick mag, and it just shut down, but I took out the batteries and tested them with the drop test, and they were fine, so I think it can happen to the blue models, too.
The other day I was actually testing my orange stryfe I got a few weeks ago. I first fired off a 25 drum, then switched to the modulus flip mag system, then a regular twelve then a normal 6 mag. And I consistently ran into the issue of the stryfe just giving up after I quickly shot the 25 and the flip mag. I couldn't even get to my regular twelve because the stryfe just said "no more!!!" And so I just did something else for awhile and when I came back to it the stryfe was ready to go again. At first i was using some old batteries so I switched them cuz the shut down made me think the batteries were dead. Then I put in brand new Duracell batteries and I ran into the same problem. It's a shame I don't feel comfortable modding but I guess when that happens I'll switch to a springer
I loved this video, I will definitely be using one of these at my next HVZ. Event. Could you make a video on how to take out the therma whatever you called it? I am the support gunner and have to go fast. Stay tacticool!
@ConnorTheSkinny There is a guy on Gumtree that sells all US version blasters and he lives in Tasmania. You can even get all the Rival blasters and they are all a fair price which is hard in Australia
Hey Everyone! I know that this is five years late, but they have fixed the problem with the thermistor! But if you got one that still does this just twist the little yellow thing in the back of the blaster, where the stock attachment point is. But they should have all of the models fixed now.
The same symptoms are happening with my $50 Hyperfire, but it wasn’t a 30 second break. In fact, the motors started doing it more and more until it just totally stopped working. Well, $50 in the trash can.
Say, Coop, when you worked with the original Stryfe, did you encounter an issue with using larger mags? I find it odd that Nerf would change a part, such as a thermister, if it causes issues when using other parts/upgrades.
Coop can you make a mod guide on how to remove the thermistor because I can’t find a guide anywhere on RU-vid and I made your uzi rapidstrike and that was very detailed and awesome and I want to get one and I like to fire fast sometimes
Anybody notice him watching gotham on the that 3:14? I just started watching it and went as penguin for halloween. Bit hard to limp the whole time but it looked cool at least!
Why the heck do all of your chronographs say that all of your darts are going 70fps when mine keeps on saying at most 60 with all of my flywheel blasters, even when I let them fully rev. It must be the fact that I use a chronobarrel as my chronograph
I have an orange stryfe and it looks sweet with the mudulus ecs-10 stock, barrel attachment foregrip and scope. Plus a 10 round banana mag. Edit: try it out!!
Yo my og stryfe (the blue) also has that problem with a 6 round mag cause I shoot fast but sometimes it's a jam but just open the door and it will get fixed fairly quickly
I face the same problem. However, I managed to twist the omega shaped wire to meet with the other. After the process, I added 3.7V batteries and it works! So it's all good now.
Fixing the shutdown problem is easy. You just have to twist the legs of the omega thingy until it touches. Make sure you don't twist it too hard or it will break.
