I agree with you. This misconception is annoying, and wastes my time. The opening of ANH alone should be enough evidence to disprove the misconception, but on the first _Death Star,_ the troops are explicitly stated to be under orders not to kill the protagonists, and on Endor, not only do the ewoks know the forest better than the imperials, but the stormtroopers in white armor are also trying to stay alive, because even the antagonists have a sense of self-preservation. The only time in the OT that stormtroopers truly can't aim is on Bespin: there are no orders to leave the characters alive, and our heroes are a small number. They do get close to being hit, though. But then there's _that_ scene in _The Mandolorian,_ when two scout troopers fail spectacularly at hitting a piece of debris. While I love the series and would count it in my Star Wars headcannon, that scene never made me laugh, and it's not because of their...treatment of The Child, as that is exactly how I feel about The Child, and how he is stealing the spotlight from our real protagonist. To sum up how I feel about this misconception I often say this: If the stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire truly could not hit their targets, the Alliance to Restore the Republic would never have needed to evacuate Echo Base at the beginning of _TESB._

To fix what your saying I've seen all movies own em too and yes you see sloppy shooting on some but storm stroopers have good aim if you did not now that most will aim and shoot you on point but they just prefer to shoot random and fast so victims have it hard to pull out there guns

JAMES BOND I hate when people say that storm troopers are bad shooters. The stormtroopers are elite soldiers and butcher most rebels, in reality on the death star they where ordered not to kill and the main characters are wearing plotarmor. On the tantive IV and in rogue one you can see the storm troopers butchering the rebels faces of. And in the rebels when rex puts the storm trooper helmet on he doesent see anything because the helmet isnt on. WAAAGHH!! TRIGGERED!!
